  • Daughter cries for presents?

My daughter turned two in October. We started letting her open one Christmas gift each day last night, she has opened two now. (mommy went a little crazy this year, and we don't want to overwhem her Christmas day). Both times, she started crying and ran away. Even once she started opening, she had little moments of panic that we had to calm her down from while she was unwrapping. Once she gets it open, she plays with the gift, no problem, like nothing was ever wrong. But when presented with a gift, she gets upset. Any ideas why this might be? Or suggestions to make Christmas easier on her? We want to to be happy, not traumatized!

  • What juices do your baby enjoy?

It's been hot here for the past couple days, and will continue to get hotter. Our 7 month old has been drinking juices with water (2 oz juice for 6 oz water) since four months, since she needs prune juice with her soy formula, but we can't give her too much prune juice (diarrhea). She isn't interested in other juices we've tried so far, and won't drink plain water, and I need to keep her hydrated.

What types of juices do your babies like best? Are any particular brands better than others as far as taste? (ones that are organic or low in sugar, if possible).

  • Why are half the questions in here about pregnancy?!?

Seriously, why is it that every time I come here, one of the first things I see is someone asking if they are pregnant??

First, we are strangers. How are we supposed to know if your pregnant

Second, if you had sex, you should have used a condom, at the very least. If you can't afford them, ask for them from Planned Parenthood or a school nurses office. Still can't get them? Then for gods sake don't have sex!

Pregnancy tests are much more accurate then a bunch of strangers online anyways.

If you had sex, and it was consensual, and you think you got pregnant... That is your own damn fault. Even if the condom broke, still your fault. You have to understand that pregnancy and STDs are part of sex, and a condom is not 100% effective.

So why, why after having sex, do people jump onto yahoo answers to ask a bunch of strangers in other countries if they are pregnant or not?!

  • hereditary learning disability?

My husband had a lot of trouble with school when he was younger- speech problems, visual dyslexia, stuttering, major ADHD, almost no social skills, auditory dyslexia (he still has trouble with similar sounds, like i & ee, a & u, etc.). The "experts" thought he would never progress past 3rd grade. (He did, thank god his mom never gave up on him).

They also questioned a very mild form of autism, but at that point additional testing would have made things worse for him, not better.

I also have ADHD, and a history of depression/ anxiety/ insomnia.

Does anyone have any idea which of these traits our daughter is likely to inherit? I can only assume she'll probably get at least a few of them, and I'd like to do some research so I can be prepared to make changes and routines to help with whatever comes our way later on.
