At the moment, I am feeling a bit frustrated and unfulfilled. I feel that, in a sense, nothing seems real. Everything is a simulation, a copy, a surrogate; there seems to be a consistent lack of something genuine, true, and actual.

I feel like I'm going to float away, but at the same time I feel completely trapped in my own mind. And despite having a lot of close friends, I feel isolated. It's like I'm always looking for something else...

What could be my problem, and how could I remedy it? Have you had any similar feelings?

Carnegie Mellon University or New York University?

for BFA fine arts?

CMU: I love CMU, it's beautiful campus with a great community feeling. I feel like I really fit in. I could get the full college experience here. Also, the fine arts program is top-notch (top ten in the country)

NYU: GREAT location. NYC is the best place for an artist - I could get a lot of internships and real life experiences here! I would have to be really independent though... not as much of a community feel as CMU. Also, NYU is giving me more money than CMU and consequently is cheaper. NYU has a great philosophy about art, but I feel as if the art program isn't as good as CMU's?
