WhoAmI?

Hey guys, I start college in 2-3 months. I will be going to NIT-Surathkal/Trichy/Warangal pursuing Computer Science and Engineering. I am a very introverted and shy guy... I can start a conversation with people (not girls tho..) no problem, but I fail to maintain it and it just gets real awkward, real fast. I am not so outgoing either. I only have a handful of friends in School and the rest of the people probably don't know I exist. I get nervous in groups >3 people. Im crap at sport, my interests don't match with many people in my class... Im not very independent either... hell I don't even have a 2-wheeler license yet...

I don't want to have a horrible college life because of my little social phobia problem. I want to improve when I get into college, but I am afraid that I will fail miserably....

So I need to choose an engineering branch and I have narrowed it down to these two. I need help in choosing b/w the two. Here's a little bit about me:

I've been interested in computers and programming all my life.

I find Maths to be fun.

My logical reasoning skills are above average

Not really interested in Physics that much

I might be wrong but I think ECE is harder than CSE. But I heard there is more demand for ECE than for CSE as ECE engineers can go into both software companies and others like CISCO, BHEL etc...

My dad says CSE is easy and any 10th grader with a little training can a job in a software company!? SO what do I do ECE or CSE. Please give reasons with your answer.

So I did a Google search on "IQ Test" and took all the ones that came up (4 or 5). I also took one on Facebook. In all of them (apparently) I was wayy above average (not bragging lol). My minimum score was 90% tile. I want to know how accurate they really are? And why do you think so? Have you guys ever taken one?

My eyes feel "weird" all the time. Kind of hard to describe... its not pain, just.... weird......ness....

I've been to a doctor (one of the most recognized in my city) for the same reason around a year ago and he said i was fine. (she even told my Mom that I was "pretending" that I needed glasses -_-)

I tried on my sisters glasses (+/-0.5 or something..) and I realized that things which were further away appeared noticeably sharper than before, which has led me to believe that the doctor was, well, an idiot. I do use the computer a lot (proper posture and all that). Infact I use it so much (~10-14hrs a day lol) that I'm surprised I haven't been diagnosed yet...

I'm in 12th CBSE and just finished with boards. The time has almost come to decide an engineering branch. The very first choice that came into my mind was CSE because I've seen the curriculum for it and I absolutely love it!

However, my dad says that the value of CS engineers is going down in the market!? There was also an article in DNA (anyone read DNA?) saying that we don't need "CODING COOLIES" anymore....

My dad says that their demand is decreasing and in a few years, their salaries will be very very low?? Is this true? Someone in the IT field please help!

I also did some research on the web and most people say that CSE will be still in demand in 4-5 years. So now im just confused. Please help. Also please suggest any other branch will surely be in demand after 5-6 yrs.

How hard is AI-EEE (JEE-MAINS) compared to CBSE board exam? Like say CBSE 12th exam is 5 on a scale of 1 to 10, where would AI-EEE stand?

I'm 17 and I'm Interested in taking up Hacking (Penetration testing) as a hobby. Don't worry I won't do anything illegal lol. But, I have no idea where to start? Should I jump right into BT5 or are there any prerequisites ? In any case, how should i learn? Any good books/videos/online tutorials etc? Please answer. I'm really looking forward to this!

I sleep for 8hrs a day (though sometimes there are exeptions) and then again for 0.5 - 1hr in the afternoon. So clearly its not because i dont get enough sleep. No I'm not depressed at all, not addicted to junk food or anything of that sort. I'm perfectly normal with a normal diet. So why do i feel so lazy all the time!?

Suppose i have to solve 20 questions as homework or something. Instead of going at it with full energy, I just sit there thinking of having to do 20 questions, how long it will take, i haven't even started blah blah... and just waste more time in that. And I know i'm doing it too, yet still it happens every frickin time (dafuq brain!?)

WARNING: The following is somewhat depressing and just sad...

I am always nervous around people, and I hardly speak. The reason for this is that i really don't have anything to say... There are various different "groups" of people in my class. Some people talk about cars; I don't know anything about cars. Some people talk about sports; I'm not interested in sports.Others are very studious and are discussing/talking about studies all the time.Again, I can't join in with them either because I'm only an average student.

Most of the time, people are exchanging stories on what they did with their friends ie gossiping. Once again, I find myself unable to join in because I don't have many interesting stories to tell.Most people would fit into atleast one of these categories; except me. I feel like i'm useless at everything and it makes me feel a bit depressed at times (this is one of those times).

It is absolutely impossible for me to talk to girls;When a girl starts talking to me I get nervous, my brain starts panicking and in all this rush i end up saying something which sounds incredibly dumb and repels the other person, when infact i know i could have said something much more interesting when i think about it later...

At times i feel as if I'm just a very slow thinker. I've been in situations many times, where I just didn't say something "soon enough". ie, by the time I figure out something to say, the rest of the people in the conversation have moved onto talking about something else and so I just stay quiet again.

I have been like this for the past few years and have successfully earned the title of "the guy who never talks". Because I don't talk, others don't talk to me; making me feel left out and lonely. Because of this I end up sitting with the weird guys in class who nobody likes (including me). This just makes me appear like them and degrades my image even further.

Ok, so I'm thinking about getting a RAM upgrade for my laptop. Currently I have 4GB of RAM (full details below) and I'm planning to upgrade to a total of 8GB. My question is "Do I really need it?" I am a gamer play mostly GTA 4, Assassins Creed, BF3 etc... When my laptop is IDLE (Running no programs at all) it occupies 50-60% of the 4GB (Which to me seems like to much). When I'm surfing the web (on chrome), the usage goes up to 70-75% (Again too much?) with 4 tabs open.

Now what I'm thinking, is that if its using 70-75% while just surfing the web, It must be having a hard time while running games right? So my question is that do I need that extra 4GB or not?
