I bought a small bowie knife in Spain, and plan on putting it baggage which I will check in and not carry on (obviously) when flying to the UK with British Airways. Its a fixed blade. Will I have any problems carrying it? I ask because I have heard about some laws in Texas specific to those knifes, which confuses me considering everyone there has guns.

I am revising for an exam and I am searching through as many sources as possible, if someone could prevent a link or an answer I would be gracious.

Other than the coexistance of a civilization what is the point of morality?

Why would a religious figure, (which I consider mythological), care whether you do good or bad, or at least what is perceived as god or bad?

If you do good, you get sent to heaven, where the purpose of your existence is eternal joy, if you do bad the purpose is eternal sadness and pain. Whats the point in such a purpose, for what reason so there be a universal code of right or wrong? Why do we empathize but at the same time enjoy violence? Would the world be a boring place if it were a pacifistic, all loving, all fortunate utopia, instead of a problematic, violent place, and even so why should it matter what is deemed moral and immoral?

Yeah, I know too many questions...

Basically, I study Politics, and this Muslim girl (she was not wearing a veil so I assumed she was moderate) was all up in arms about Palestinians and how bad the Americans are for ignoring them... and so we had a Political conversation, where we largely agreed that Democracy does not exist, although she kept insisting that it did and was a failure, and then she went on to say that she believes in the restoration of the Caliphate and the implementation of Islamic Sharia Law...

I was shocked and expressed such, but she retaliated by saying it's just and perfect. I said "yes only for muslims" , and then she told me my views were "tainted" if I believed that and that everyone would be better off under the Quran and a Caliphate and Sharia law...

I mean WTF. I am supposed to be doing group work with this person for a Politics presentation about the Cold War, but after hearing her political opinion, it feels like I am talking to an narrowminded Islamic Fascist... IN AN ACTUAL UNIVERSITY.

What do I do?

After a level near the end of Max Payne, the triangle and l2 button decided to stop working on one of my controllers. This is for every single use of the controller of the ps3. My other controllers work perfectly. I have tried resetting that specific controller several times, but it has made no difference. I am pretty sure the problem can be fixed but I have not much of a clue how. I have no intention of buying another controller because they are expensive.

How is the God of the bible objectively Good when he defies his own principles of morality? If he is not absolutly morally good then what makes him any different to a dictator?

I am talking about the old testament and all the horrible things he does (bashing babys skulls, forcing people to eat their own children. mass murder, telling people to mass murder, killing Children and first born of Egypt, exterminating all but 8 members of humanity etc..) , the existence of diseases and virus, the existence of Satan, the existence and use pf hell, the inability to act towards evil..

How can someone believe in an entity which does not follow its own mandate of morality but call it Good and all loving? It is absurd!

Today, out of the blue, a dark red small red patch, on my finger appeared.

It is on my right-hand, on the finger right of my middle finger. It is not at all on the finger nail but covers a tiny part of the outline of it.

It is in a specific area with a strictly circular shape. What could it be?

Christianity, Islam and Judaism dont, unless we are to assume that their God is Malevolent which their followers somehow negate.

Judaism - Theological Fascism that God choices one race above all

Christianity - Morale Hypocirsy, worship peaceful and Socialist prophet but believe it is just for revleation and eternal hell for petty "sins"

Basically my friend was born to a religious Buddhist mother and irreligious Catholic father. When I first met him, I was an Orthodox Christian and he was Agnostic.

Anyway, over the years he grew interested in all forms of religion, mainly Christian and Muslim. Anyway, first he became interested in Islam but then neglected it in favour of Catholicism and Orthodoxy. He bought rosery beads, icons etc... but did not shove or yap about religion done, we just got along because it seemed like nothing but a simple interest.

Than all of a sudden the guys goes nuts, and starts preaching to me protestant Christianity, citing mine as evil and heretical and of the Antichrist. He pissed me off with his preaching and made me wish to prove him wrong, so I read the bible (for once) and did some research online... While I did this and argued with him, he became more and more obessed with a militant form of Baptist Christianity, claiming he wasnt part of a religion but the "truth". While this was going on, my research and his behaviour compelled me to became atheist and liberated me from religion.

However he has made it his mission to "convert and save me" and has even said that he will do his past to see that I am part of the "elect". He invited me to his Church, and his pastor tried to convert me.

I have never seen a guy go so delusional. He believes in Young Earth creationism, and is always manipulative with his agenda, where you only understand what he is up to in the end, after he gradually unleashes it on you... I have tried to reason with him, but his arguments just deviate from my points and go on something totally irrelevant often based on some excused form of a "miracle" or Pareidolia or some nonsense about morality, as if he knows the definition of objective morality.

Surprisingly the guy is studying a far east orient language in Cambridge and has many like minded friends from that University. While I appreciate how his personal insecurity has made me free of religion is there any way I can free him and be his friend once more, because I stopped after I felt harasshed by him and his pastor...

This happened over the course of like 6 years and me and the guy are around 20 atm..

Soo is there any way I can save him from delusion?
