  • I am missing my dog, i had to put her to sleep on 15.04.14?

My beautiful Rosy had a very abnormal pancreas, if I could spell it, vets ended up advising she was in alot of pain and suffering, I had no choice but to put her to sleep, I miss her deeply but know I did the right thing. My daughter is so lost without her, Rosey picked my daughter as her new owner. Rosey and my daughter slept together in a double bed, swam together in pool in summer, played football together, snuggled together and were inseparable, unless she snuggled with me. My daughter wants a new rescue dog asap but i am making her wait till we get back from holiday end of month. my worry no is do I do the same as last time and let dog come to her or is there a better way? I am so concerned that we will get the wrong one, I dont want my daughters heart broken again. Any advice? OK I have experience with rescue dogs but its always tough

  • I am going to get another rescue dog when I return from holiday any place to go or to avoid?

Had to put my last dog down due to ill health, I couldn't have her suffer. Now I am going to look for a new one when I return from my holiday. I've been in touch with battersea, dogs trust, my local kennels, mutts in distress. Just wondered if any one knew any place better?

  • my alsation collie cross has had 2 bouts of pancreatitis, should i give up dry dog food?

I have been advised by my vet to put my Rosey on a dried dog food less than 8% fat content, so I found Chappie chicken at 6.3%, she has been on this for four months and has just had another bout, shes still poorly. Vet just gave me folin and zantac. I have just started feeding her a desert spoon of rice and a quarter of a slice of chicken, every couple of hours. Should I give up on dog food? would she be safer on just chicken and rice? I really haven't got a clue. I don't want my baby poorly. My Rosey is mine and my daughters best friend, even down to having to buy my daughter a double bed to accommodate the pair of them. Is it possible that my dogs stress could cause these flare ups as its happened twice after my parents have been away. I do hope someone can give me some advice so I can make Rosey happy.
