I have dark brown hair, which is about 2-3 inches past my shoulders. It's really thick, and extremely sensitive to temperature. If I straighten it, even when using a great variety of heat protectant sprays (I've tried so many brands) or none at all, it still ends up going back to normal after around an hour of school. I know how to french braid, but not on myself. I can fishtail braid but my hair is much too thick and not long enough to make a substantial braid. They end up thick and stubby.

I've been told I look better with my hair down around my face, but I end up tying it up again because it is so unmanageable. I have bangs which are in the process of growing out, and they're not very thick at all.

Can you please help me brainstorm some ideas? I'm literally at the end of my tether; I've spent so much money on useless hair products and it's driving me insane. Nothing works! All of the girls in my school come in with amazing hairstyles or just really dead-straight hair, and I just wear a ponytail every single freaking day. I don't want to have to wake up incredibly early either, but I will if it's my only chance to have nice looking hair.

It's a little wavy, but not soft, nice and natural waves. More like one big kink in the middle. Can you please just recommend either hairstyles that work on my hair or just ways to keep it straight? Thank you:) x

My best friend wants to walk around London dressed as super heroes for her birthday party, but being a generally self-conscious person (and mind, the outfits are going to revealing) and very aware of myself, this really doesn't appeal to me. She seems pretty adamant to do it anyway, even though I've told her how I feel about it:/ I mean, if it were me and my best friend told me that, I wouldn't go ahead with it. She doesn't really seem to care, and it kind of annoys me. Am I being stupid?

Okay basically last night was New Year's Eve and I went to my guy friend's house and this guy I have liked for a while was there.

We have been on holiday together and our families are really good friends. Anyhow, we were watching TV in the dark and we were sitting like, really REALLY close. I don't know how to explain it properly... but it was nice :)

And then he suggested we took each other's phones and texted anyone on their contact list, so I texted one of his guy friends saying "We should meet up any day cause I would drop my life for you, I love you etc. love your Romeo".

Then, when I got home we were texting still and I said "You know, I technically organised you a date" and he said "With who" and I said "With [guy friend]!" and he said "what about u and i today"

SO I said "are you asking me out" and he said "no but what would you do if i did" and I said "I'd say id like that"...

Then he was like "really?" and i was like "yeah but dw i know youre not serious" and he said "or am i?" so i said "i don't know ..." and he said "okay" and I said "I would say yes though." and he said "wud u" and i said "yes."

Whaaaaat does this mean was he being serious?! I'm so confused.........!!!!!!!!! Sorry I babbled a lot

Okay so I am feeling very strange lately, like I'm being held back? Sometimes I feel depressed, sometimes I start crying for no reason, and then sometimes I feel really emotional, and then sometimes I feel really happy. I think I need to turn over a new leaf, I don't even know what my personality is anymore.

I don't have a creative outlet, I love music and reading and my friends do not understand me, they always let me down and leave me out of stuff. I don't like them, I'd much rather be on my own. I'm self conscious, I stay inside a lot (but I DO exercise twice a week, which is okay for a thirteen year old, so please do not patronise me about doing more exercise, I'm not interested)

I do NOT know what's going on but I am SO SICK of EVERYTHING it's like every day is the same. What can I do? Can you suggest creative outlets? Why I'm feeling like this? It's wierd. I haven't started my period yet but I'm not getting any tummy aches... if you're wondering... :$ I don't know what to do. Any advice or whatever, I would be so grateful.

I had Windows XP and Sims 3 installed, and when I tried to install an expansion pack my computer wouldnt respond, I'd click AutoPlay but then nothing would happen.

So then I upgraded to Windows 7, and wiped my computer, and I installed Sims 2 and many expansion packs :) I was happy.

But now I am trying to install another expansion pack, Sims 2 Apartment Life, and the same thing is happening. I will put it in, and it will say:

AutoPlay

DVD RW Drive (D:) Sims2EP8

So I click "Run Autorun.exe" and it will say Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to your computer? So I click Yes, and after that NOTHING

No installation menu, no nothing. I've tried this with Apartment Life, Nightlife, Sims 2 Pets....... nothing is working so it is either Windows or my laptop, not the disks

What can I do???????????? I'm so fustrated >:(.

Recently I bought The Sims 2 PC (DVD Edition) second-hand for £10. I tried inserting it into my only disk drive and the computer starts whirring but nothing actually happens. I have tried manually installing it and it did the same. When I go into My Computer, it says Sims 2 is in the drive. I explore the file and click on AutoRun, and nothing pops up. This happens with setup.exe as well. I have tried clicking everything that looks remotely useful and yet nothing works.

So by now I am thinking, is this the disk or the CD drive? So I insert an expansion pack (The Sims 2: Open for Buisness) and the same happens, the whirring occurs and nothing pops up.

I am sure I reach the minimum system requirements as I have had Sims 2 installed on my laptop before (I uninstalled it properly and have checked) but I uninstalled it to install The Sims 3. I bought a new Sims 2 because I lost the old disc and manual.

I am getting really frustrated and really want to play the game. I think it's the disk drive but I'm not really sure as I'm not very good with computers =S

I've posted on forums, searched it up and spent hours trying to fix the problem. What can I do to make the installation menu pop up?

About 2 months ago on my laptop I had Sims 2 installed, but uninstalled it completely to make room for The Sims 3. I don't like the gameplay so I am switching back to The Sims 2, but when putting it in my drive, nothing happens. The game is second hand but is in very good condition. Going on My Computer, it says Sims 2 is in the drive, but I've tried running AutoRun, clicking on setup.exe and running all the programs, however, nothing has happened. No error message or anything. I am sure I reach requirements as I had Sims 2 installed before. It is the DVD edition (if that matters) and I am really unsure of what to do. I've tried manual installment and still when I click AutoRun nothing at all happens! I am getting really fustrated! Please help.

I bought the Sims 2 Double Deluxe PC game,

Anyway, when I put the disk in the drive, nothing happens. So I go to Start-->Run and type "D:\Autorun" like it says to do in the manual and still nothing happens. And i also go to my computer and click the CD drive and nothing appears while the disk is on there.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I've looked online, but I couldn't find a solution. My computer does recognize the disk in the drive, it just won't install. Thanks in advance!(:

So I bought Sims 2 and when I put it in the disc drive, it makes a whirring noise like when it's about to start but nothing happens. When I go on "My Computer" it says it's in the drive but there's no Auto-Run menu or anything. Nothing appears. How can I get it to start up?

So I have lost my Sims 3 disc, I have the box. I have looked very thourughly in every room of my house. I most definitely did not lend it to anyone and I don't know when I last had it, but it's been a while since I last used it. So, any tips? How do I find it? I'm really annoyed and I'm not going to buy a new one before any suggests.

So I bought Sims 3 a while ago and I've lost the disc. I have literally torn the house apart to find it and I have looked EVERYWHERE, and I'm guessing someone has thrown it away. I have the manual and registration code thing on the back. I've tried EA Download Manager but when I activate it and click on Sims 3, it just tells me to insert the disc again. I don't know where to find and download a safe no cd crack and I think these are illegal anyway. Is there a way to make the EA Download Manager work or another way I can play my game without the disc? Thanks (:

I recently bought Sims 3 but it's garbage I never play it it's really bad. I used to have Sims 2 and a lot of expansion and stuff backs but I sold them all, but now I want them back. Hello, my name's Laura. I am 13 years old and live in South London. I was wondering if the Y!A community has advice for me?

I'm want to get a Canon EOS 1100D, a very nice and professional camera. I am interested in photography and I really want a nice, good quality camera. But, like I said, I am only 13. Hence I can not do babysitting and I only get £30 a month in pocket money. The camera costs about £420 with all the accessories. I would have to save for a year and 2 months and I wouldn't be able to spend any money :/

So here's my question: How can I recieve more money? I have a plan to sell some old stuff but that will probably only get me £100 max and probably a lot less. Please note: I live in quite a busy area, and I am 13, do remember! I have a debit card but nothing to complicated such as an ISA or something of the kind.

I've had these bumps on my hip/side of stomach for about 2 weeks. I haven't ever smoked, taken alchohol or taken drugs. I am 13 and I have about 3 clusters of them all on my hip. They look like lots of mosquito bites (but are not because I live in the UK and there would not be enough) close together and are very itchy but hurt when I scratch them. They are on my right side (the side I sleep on) and are definitely not chicken pox because I have had them before. Anyone help? What are they?

Okay I try really hard at school. I could try harder obviously but I get by! I do all my homework most of the time and have missed a few. A few! And most of them I have done to a good standard.

But my mum is CONSTANTLY saying that I'm a let down to the family and am going to be a dinner lady and that I am not working hard enough. Is she being mean or am I overreacting or what? I'm 12 and sometimes it just feels like I wanna hang myself or something :(

Ok so I used to go out with this guy, and he was so nice. The nicest guy I've ever met and I loved him and I put everything into the relationship. Then he found someone else and broke up with me and I didn't see him for a month. When I saw him again it was by coincidence and for the past week we've been hanging out and he's been really cosy, putting his arm round me and always sitting next to me, and I thought he might still like me because I still like him. He says he liked me (as a friend) and that we were friends, but then I told him that I still had feelings for him, and he just said "Oh". We talked for a bit but he was a bit distant. So from what I've told you, can you help me?!

Recently my friends have been excluding me. They have been acting really odd. This morning they were talking and looking at me so I went over, and heard my name before one of them (Lets call her Amy) said "Oh hey Laura..." in a really cryptic way. They're also arranging stuff behind my back and generally being very standoffish and really crap friends.

But I sit next to this girl (lets call her Mia) and she's really nice. Anyway, Amy and her friends arranged a trip into town and I didn't even hear about it until I overheard them talking about it, and I kind of asked "What's this?" and they invited me whilst Amy was scowling, she obviously didn't want me to come. We were going for lunch and town but they cancelled lunch. I arranged something with Mia and she's really nice I want to be friends with her but now Amy and "the gang" are claiming town is still on, just actual lunch is cancelled! I really want to go out with Mia but I can't tell the guys I thought it was cancelled, they aren't gullible and will think I'm lying. I don't know what to do, I could make an excuse but we are going into town, same as Amy, and if they find out they will not want to be my friends (if they want to be anyway) and I don't want to cancel Mia. At all. She's really nice; way nicer than Amy and that lot who just talk about her meanly even though they don't know her, because of "rumors" they reckon they do. So...

1) What should I do on the day? Who should I go with?

2) Should I confront Amy about the way she's been acting?

3) Should I forget about them and just be friends with Mia?

My order (which I ordered Tuesday at 21:00 (9PM)) has been dispatched, it was dispatched via Royal Mail UK on Wednesday the very next day at 19:00. The estimated date is 28th (Monday) but if it has already dispatched I seriously doubt it will take that long. I live in the UK too, and I think it will come fairly quickly, I ordered 2-4 days or something, the Super Saver one (on delivery options). Bare in mind that it has been 2 days since dispatched date. The weather and traffic is good. Taking in everything in mind, when do you think it will come? Today (Friday), tomorrow (Saturday)...? Just estimate. I really want my order :)

It's now Friday, and I think it will arrive sooner than Monday if it was dispatched on Wednesday? So I think it will arrive today (Friday) or tomorrow (Saturday)
