I went down stairs to get a glass of water before bed and my mom was in the kitchen and she told me her sugar was 575, the highest ever and she's had diabetes since her early 20s. She normally doesn't go over 300 and even that is severe. She uses an insulin pump normally not shots but she took a shot right now to lower her sugar. Then she went to bed. Is this bad? I can't fall asleep because I'm afraid she's going to slip into a coma. She set her alarm for 2am to check her sugar again. Is there anything else I should do?

It's not expired. I have horrible body aches and chills from a cold/flu and I'm taking ibuprofen every 4 hours and it's not helping one bit. I'm taking the proper dosage for my age and size.

For the past 3-4 days I've felt horrendous. I have the body aches and chills of the flu and gloppy/painful throat, and headaches, but no fever. I mean occasionally it was go up to 99.8 or something but that doesn't count. Could I still have the flu without the fever? If not what is wrong with me?

I know this is a vague question but my mom has scheduled a blood test for me but I really can't miss school this close to midterms, my symptoms Include:

- extreme aches and pains (especially around joints)

- extreme fatigue

- a rash that could be considered a butterfly rash (but then again I'm a teenager so it's very well just pimples or irritation)

- headaches

My mom has lupus so that's why she's all paranoid but like these symptoms are so vague that im pretty sure I just have a winter cold or flu.

All I'm wondering is if you think I should actually get blood work taking or if it would be totally fine not to.

Can I just but tan(200) in the calculator to get .36397 and then do 1/.36397? Or is that wrong

This is a lame question but around 6:00 I had two ibuprofens and then at like 7:30 I had a small glass of champagne... Should I be worried? I know I may sound paranoid but a family friend accidentally died a few years ago from mixing pain medication and alcohol so I've alwast made sure to never ever mix the two. Thanks for any help

I had arm surgery today (they removed a screw from my arm from a break three years ago). My mom asked if was going to be under general or not and they said yes. Just curious what the difference is? Thank you!

So as far as college, I'm not necessarily worried about my grades but I don't do sport and I'm worried that my list of 'extracurricular activities' won't compare to a top student who also does a sport but here goes..

Freshman Year: Lot's of volunteer work, Started a slavic club at school, babysitting, pretty involved in my youth group on weekends, and most days consisted of art after school since I could fit art class into my school schedule.

Freshman Year Summer: Three week mission trip to Africa, volunteering, art classes, lots of babysitting

Sophomore Year: Slavic Club, more babysitting, youth group, became a member of leo lions volunteer club, Student Council member, and art classes, (tried to start track but only lasted about a week b/c knee injury).

Sophomore Summer: Part time job at local grocery store, in state mission trip, volunteering, art and guitar classes

Junior Year: Apprenticeship (Education - Future Teachers of America), Link Club (a club that introduces and welcomes the new freshman into the high school), Student Council member, Slavic Club member, Best buddies club member, yoga club, french club, art and guitar lessons, babysitting, youth group, and lions club.

Junior Summer: Part time job at grocery store for half the summer, CIT at camp for half a summer, school sponsored trip to france with french class, babysitting, art, guitar, youth group

Senior Year: TBA

So do all these activities compare to a top student who also does a sport

This summer should i go to to Katy Perry concert or Lady Gaga. I might go to both but just in case i can only go to one which one do you think would be more fun for a 16 year old girl? thanks:)

As you can see I have no AP classes planned for next year. I am planning on taking two or three AP classes senior year. But will it look significantly bad to colleges if I am not taking any AP classes my junior year?

So my mom is obsessed with the idea of me becoming a model. Not like in a way about money for fame but she just generally thinks I'd be good at it. But there's just no way I could be a model like weight wise. I mean I'm not overweight (I'm 5'11 145 pounds) but I'm just not model stick thin. Every time I tell my mom this she gets super upset and tells me that I'm perfect the way I am and super thin (things a mom would say). She just doesn't get the fact that models are stick thin. She's making me go to a casting call for a modeling agency this weekend and I really don't want to go stand next to these stick thin models and be turned down. It would just be embarrassing. So how do I get my mom to understand I can't do this yet? Not until I lose a little weight?

Soo how much should I weight to be in a thin healthy condition

Right now I am 145 and I'm a little chubby so my goal weight is 130

Ive been eating really bad lately (i'm working on fixing it) and I have also been getting a terrible terrible skin rash on my legs every night. I am celiac but I am beyond positive I haven't eaten and gluten in months. So it just dawned on me that the two problems may be related. Is that a stupid idea or could a bad diet (like junk food 24/7) cause a rash like that?

In a lab for biology we are using a solution of bromothyl blue and ammonia to test carbon dioxide. I accidentally got it in my mouth, is that bad? What should I do?

So we've had an exchange student for 3 months, and she will be here for 2 more. She's exactly my age, same friend group, a lot of classes together. We've had a whole lot of fun but sometimes I just need to get away for alone time but I can't, because everywhere I go she is there. And she's super nice and pretty much the best exchange student we could've asked for but sometimes it's just a little much. Now she's asking for staying for an extra 5 months, so it will be almost a full year. My family is super on board for it but I'm not so much. When they I asked my opinion I told them I wasn't crazy about the idea because 10 months is a super long time and I'm not sure if I want to have the pressure of entertaining her for even more time. My parents have decided to let her stay. I'm the only one that really talks/entertains her at any point in time, so it's a lot of pressure on me. But anyways, how do I deal with this for 7 more months, b/c I enjoy her company but sometimes it's too much?
