Which Row? Which Section? What is the best price for the location? Is it worth it to get 2nd or 3rd to courtside, or get mid-lower level?

I want to stay at the Grand Hyatt Kauai but it looks pretty far from all the attractions on the north shore of Kauai. Any recommendations from people who have stayed on the north shore hotels/resorts? Looking for something as similar to the Grand Hyatt as possible. Going 9/15-9/18. Want seculsion, good eats, swimmable beach, and quality rooms. Thanks

I've been to Japan and seen the city. Now, I want to enjoy the countryside. I want to stay at a Ryokan, visit local Udon shops, and stop by temples. I would love to ride a bicycle through the countryside and stay in small Inns. Most articles and websites are devoted to backpacking in the city. However, I want to see the rice fields, mountains, and ocean views. Anybody out there have experience with this???

I have a Dell Vostro 1000 laptop and my hard drive stopped spinning a few weeks ago. I have a ton of college application documents on that hard drive and I want to recover these documents without spending $500-$1000 at a hard-drive recovery firm. These companies say they can "prepare" the hard drive to spin again. DOES ANYBODY KNOW HOW TO PREPARE THE HARD DRIVE TO SPIN? No freezer methods please. Do you need to add hardware to the hard drive? Anybody know how to recover this data for under $200??

I do very basic video editing and basic website creation using yahoo! sitebuilder. I record basketball games and convert from mpeg to asf files. It takes about 40 minutes to convert 300mb of mpeg2 to 90mb of asf file on my Dell Vostro 1000 notebook. However, my hard drive crashed after six months of use. I want an imac, but the $1200 price tag is too steep. Dell XPS are around $600 on their dell outlet. There are also Dell Desktops and HP desktops under $500 with over 2.2 core 2 duo processors. I want a faster machine than my Dell Vostro, but also don't want to lose another hard drive. My other option would be to buy a Dell XPS desktop and backup data regularly to an external hard drive. I'd like to keep it under $800. Any suggestions?

I want to use software to recover the data but I dont think the drive spins. Is there any way to recover the data at home? Can anybody recommend stores/services that can extract data?

The Palm Centro is basically a very small computer/phone. Has anyone upgraded any of the hardware on a Palm Centro before. Obviously, you can upgrade the memory card, but has anyone been able to upgrade the processor or internal memory?

My finance and I are planning on our wedding in Oahu next fall and contacting a wedding planner now. But almost 40% of the estimate are service related fees (i.e. delivery, catering staff, tips, cleaning, on-site coordination fees, 20% services charge, etc). I edit 4gb of video per week and post to my website. I'm using a Dell Vostro 1000 1.83 ghz pentium dual core 2 and it takes about 10 minutes to convert a 400mb .mov file to a high-compression 100mb .asf (windows media) file. It then takes about 30 minutes to upload this to my website. I'm thinking about a refurb Macbook 2.2ghz 3rd generation for $999. I've heard Leopard is the best OS for this and the specs on this look nearly as good as the 4th generation Macbook 2.4ghz and the Macbook Pro 2.4ghz. I'd like to stay under $1,100. HP had a coupon for $400 off a $999 system which would have been a quad-core 2.5ghz system for $599. Any recommendations?

Sports are one of the universal bridges across cultural and language barriers. I believe they bring one another closer through competition and teamwork. I have started giving small groups of students from Japan lessons in ESL intermixed with athletic activities. The students seem to progress much faster in communicating with their American counterparts, and are much more enthusiastic to master the idiosyncracies of the American-English dialogue by working together on the same team. A strong bond is established that makes lessons much more interactive. If you are from Japan, what do you think of such a teaching method?
