  • Why would someone want to control a college campus and get rid of faculty and or staff?

Just curious...writing a story and I'm stuck! Essentially, I'm writing about a power struggle between the institution and a protagonist.

  • What book do you think Belle was reading in the beginning of Beauty and the Beast?

Just curious...the protagonist (a female character) meets prince charming and "won't discover that it's him till chapter 3"...More info: "Well it's my favorite! Far off places, daring swordfights, magic spells, a prince in disguise!"

  • What foods sound good?

I'm having a get together at my house and I'm making peppermint bark, setting out a chex mix or a bowl of mixed nuts, and maybe making Reeses peanut butter bars...what other snacks sound good with these? Or are those enough of a variety? There will also be punch, egg nog, and sparkling cider...

  • What are some good Bible verses for my blog?

My blog is well, a blog. It has reflective material and almost journal entries, though more like an update of my life... it's girlyguns540.blogspot.com. I don't have a good verse I feel I can put along with the title...looking for one wholeheartedly though. Any tips?

  • How do you become a woman?

What are the differences between being a girl and being a woman or being a boy and being a man? How do you get to the point where you become a woman? How do you know you are a woman? I feel as if I am on the brink, but then someone points out that I am a girl. And then points to someone else and says that person is a woman/man. Is it a matter of having a career? Knowing your future, where you are going? Is it being shaped by life experiences? I have friends my age who are still children though they are in the military, starting families, etc...so am I not a woman because I am still working towards my career and future? I'm 20...but I noticed age has little to do with it. I'm a little confused as to what people mean when it comes to this subject...

  • Police officers: How can I more readily prepare for a career in law enforcement?

Though I am taking classes, I am not going to finish school on it, but how else can I self-train and prepare for the career? Should I talk to older officers, those currently employed--though I already have, shall I talk to more and more them? Etc. Any advice? Thanks!

  • What is the technical name for the average pistol a cop uses?

Is there a nickname? What are features and characteristics of the gun? Physical characteristics (though I've seen one) that usually call attention to themselves; and "actionary" characteristics...ex. Is there a certain direction that you have to aim at in order to achieve meeting your target, or is it usually straight on? Is there a special thing about the weapon that you'd like to share? What makes your certain pistol so unique and fitting to you? Ex. Is the grip different for you than it would be for someone else? Basically, what makes it unique?

I am writing a story about a couple of kids growing up wanting to be cops, and the process, some of the action, and it's all based on The Lovely Bones. You guessed it, I am writing a fanfic. So I want to know, is that kind of gun a cop USUALLY carries and how "personalized" is your gun; What does your weapon mean to you? Do you know it by heart?

Thank you for answering! I really appreciate it.

  • Writer's Block!! Where to go?

Alright, in my story, a man and a young girl are headed to town. This is a fanfic based on Van Helsing. I am getting images in my head for it, but I don't know where to go. I kind of want to go with the theme "the truth shall set you free"...the girl is an orphan discovering her past. I am stuck. Any tips for overcoming WB?

  • What is the concept and process in the Victorian era behind having a "ward"?

Is it similar to having custody of someone? I remember the term being brought to attention in the book Jane Eyre...Edward Rochester's "ward". What does this term mean? How did people use it back then?

  • How to word this phrase?

What is another, better way of saying "he raised his eyebrow at me"? In context, the man doing the eyebrow-raising is looking down at a child who just ran into him...If you need a visual picture, imagine Hugh Jackman as Van Helsing, looking down and "raising his eyebrow" in the above situation...

Just need suggestions. :) Thank you!

  • Do other girls fantasize about their beau being wounded?

Is this just me? This is not a sexual fantasy I'm speaking of. A guy friend brought up that he saw someone mention it online. He said, "I've heard that girls often fantasize about their boyfriends or males of interest getting beat up. Is this true?"

What do you think? Is this stupid? For the girls: what do you imagine when you think of this? What I mean by that is, what are your reasons for it? Do you imagine so because you want to take care of the guy, nurse him back to health? Or do you have other reasons? What are they?

  • Are cooked eggs bad for dogs?

The family I live with has a 14 year old shih tzu dog whom is adorable...but she keeps having seizures, or something where she crunches up painfully (not possessed, I swear it.) The lady of the house has fed her eggs (cooked) lately, but people online say that that should be fine. Is it not? Is it just because she is old? That might sound like a dumb question, but I am curious about the details. Thank you.

  • Cooked eggs bad for dogs?

The family I live with owns a 14 year old shitzu dog. She's adorable, but she's been having these....seizure-things. She gets all twisted up and cries; it's happened twice. The lady of the house has looked up whether cooked eggs are bad (every once in awhile she gives her one) and according to people online, once in awhile is fine. The dog is old, but are COOKED eggs bad for her? Please, if you offer your opinion, offer sources too. Thanks.
