My turtle is about 1.5 inches. He is acting lethargic, keeps gasping for breath, and is swimming lopsided. I haven't tried to feed him, so I'm not sure if he is having difficulty eating. He has been swimming lopsided for a while, but I thought it was because of the current my filter creates and didn't think anything of it. All the vets that aren't really far away are out of town for the holidays, and I don't have the money to take him to one anyways. What can I do? I know to raise the water temperature and move him to a clean tank, but I don't know how I can raise the water temperature as my heater is not adjustable. Could I try putting hand warmers under a smaller tank as well as the aquarium heater? It's bad. He isn't nearly as active as he usually is. Could I give him some sort of vitamin or something? He's my baby and I would be devastated if I lost him.

What size do turtles start shedding scutes? Do they shed scutes on their bellies and their skin as well? I have a red eared slider that is roughly 1 and a half inches, so should I expect to start seeing him shed soon? Thanks

I am interested in buying a baby stinkpot musk turtle, but before ordering one I wanted to make sure undergroundreptiles.com was a good source. From the research I've done they seem to be a good place that really cares for their animals, but I wanted to here from someone who's had experience with them before I make my final decision. I've had too many hatchlings get sick from poor treatment at the places I got them from, and quite frankly I'm tired of it. Has anyone ordered a hatchling from them that had a good/bad experience that could tell me about it? Thanks.

It is illegal to sell small turtles in my state, however I can legally own them. Therefore, I'm not going to be able to find a breeder or pet store that carries them near me, so I have to buy online. I want to buy a baby musk turtle, and I wanted to be sure that he/she will be healthy when I get them. I have one turtle right now that I got at the beach, and I used to have two other that came from the same store, but they died. The two that died were very sick and I'm assuming it was due to improper care at the store I got them at. I really do not want to have to deal with another sickly turtle, so I wanted to make sure turtleshack.com was reputable before purchasing my turtle. I know they ship them in a little box and all that, which is not a favorable way to receive the turtle, but it's really the only way unless I drove for hours which isn't possible. Has anyone used this site before that could tell me how their experience was? Thanks.

I currently have a red eared slider hatchling, and I'm thinking about buying a musk turtle. I've hear musk turtles are good in captivity because they do not grow very big. I am aware that my RES will get bigger than the musk turtle, but I'll do something about that when it's an issue. Would the two turtles get along? My RES was mistreated by his previous owner, making him shy around humans, but he wouldn't be afraid of another turtle would he? I'd like to get him a playmate so he's not lonely. I have a 20 gallon tank with a good filter and good lighting. I just want to be sure this wouldn't cause any harm to my RES before purchasing the musk turtle.

I'm a beginner when it comes to aquariums, and I am planning on getting several African Cichlids soon (I'm not sure what specific Cichlid I'll be getting yet) and I wanted to put a Borneo Sucker in the tank to help keep it clean. I want an angelfish as well simply because they're cool. I know that Cichlids can be agressive, and I was wondering if it would eat the other species? Particularly the Borneo sucker, if it's likely that it would eat an angelfish then I won't get one. I'd rather have a Borneo Sucker to eat the algae off the side of the tank.

I had a baby turtle in a glass aquarium, but my turtle died a couple days ago. My filter made water splash up on the sides of the tank, which caused calcium buildup (I had a calcium block in the water). There are certain parts of the tank where it is so cloudy you can't even see through it. I've tried using a scrub brush to scrub it off, but it's caked on there too badly. I don't want to use chemicals because I intend on getting a new turtle in the next month or so.

A hot pink highlighter leaked all over the inside of my Juicy handbag. You can't see it on the outside of the bag but there is a huge stain on the interior. How can I wash it out without ruining the rest of the purse? Even though you can't see it on the outside I'd still like to get the stain out in case I want to sell it whenever I get a new handbag,

My friend and I were curious if a teenager got married at an early age with their parents permission and signature, would the teen be able to have the rights of an adult, or would they need someone to sign for them in order to get a tattoo or something?

I go to a Christian school, and my Bible teacher is stupid, and almost the entire class failed this semester. I know failing Bible can't make you fail the grade. Do colleges care about Bible if they aren't Christian colleges? I don't plan on going to a normal college to begin with because I plan on going to beauty school, but still. I don't want this to ruin my chances in case I change my mind. Thanks in advance.

I need all the ideas I can get. It needs to be cheap because I have no funding. I have white tablecloths that are provided already, and i need ideas. If it could be stuff that could be easily made then that would be great:D I can't really get flowers, but i want to use lots of candles and colours.

I'm a scene kid. Don't hate it. I'm getting pretty bored with my outfits, and I need some advice on scene outfits that I could actually wear that aren't too outrageous. I don't like t-shirts and i'm not big on the whole converse and skinny jeans with a t-shirt look... I think it's a bit juvenile. I like fun things and bright colours, but I like colours to be paired with neutrals like black so I don't look like a walking rainbow. I would appreciate pictures and links to good scene clothing sites.

Also, I would greatly appreciate it if your answers were unbiased. If you have a problem with scene kids, or want to call me a poser, I'm probably not going to listen to you anyways, so you'd be wasting your time, and you'd just be getting you answer deleted.

I wanted to do the revoltionary war, but my teacher said that was dated too far back.

I'm 14, and I feel incredibly over sheltered. My parents send me to this super tiny christian school where everyone is "good" and I'm not one of those godly people or whatever. I can't text. I got my facebook taken away, I have super strict calling restrictions on my phone, and my mom doesn't seem to like hardly any of my friends. I'm bi, and my mom is incredibly homophobic, and she told me she's not gonna love me as long as I'm bi. That's the whole reason she sent me to the school I'm at. She claims I wasn't born that way, and I'm only doing it to shock people and because I'm begging for attention. I'm not. i'm happy with who I am... Or who I was. Now I feel like I'm in a box, and I have no way out. I feel trapped and like I can't be a normal kid because she has to take everything a normal teenager has away from me. I feel like I just wanna scream and smack her across the face, take everything with me and leave. I hate this, and I don't know what to do anymore about anything. I can't have an opinion unless it's a good "christian" opinion (I'm athiest by the way) and everything I'm for, her and the other people at my school are against. I can't wait to get out, but I'm begining to wonder if I'm gonna make it that long. I was happy about a month ago, but then my mom decided to go all "You're bi so you have no privileges, and I don't love you" on me:'( help.
