My home state is in SC (owned a home there). I am on a contract position with a consulting company with their clients being in PA. I have to rent an apartment and drive to the site to work.

In my case

1) Is my rent deductible? Cheaper than hotel

2) Is mileage from SC to PA deductable?

3) Is mileage from Hotel to work place deductible? (30 miles round trip)?

4) I don't keep meal receipts. Should I claim $51 per day (including weekends) per diem?

5) Are flight expenses back to home state deductible?

6) Car repairs? (i know it's either claiming mileage or actual expenses). Kind of confused how flights, mileage, repairs, and etc go together. For ex. Flight and mileage expenses only (not including repairs)

My driver license, house, and etc are still tied to my home state. So, Im paying extra to go to work site (client)

A friend of mine left stove on accidentally and went to her room. Then, another roommate got out and found it. There is nothing on the electric stove. It was just not turned off. The thing is my friend signed a contract with her roommate and put on security deposit. Now, her friend want to kick her out because this is the second time. She wanted her to pay for the next month rent and will not return the deposit, claiming that it is a breach of contract. Is it? The contract doesn t say anything other than my friend has to let her know when moving out a month in advance.

Is this legal? The roommate is not even the owner of the apartment. Zero damage. Only claim that it is a potential hazard. No proof, other than emailing my friend. She claimed that she did that before when my friend moved in. But, nobody went after her obviously...

There is a limit to the speed and size of processor technology or camera. Interestingly, with a quad or octacore processor, we should expect lag in our computer. With such a fast processor, phone still cant keep up and slow down with upgrade. We still have to buy new phone every year. Also, all phone company offer phone that are comparable every year. Do they corporate and hide the better product until the following year? I wish some company come out and designed the best one possible after processor tech almost maxed out. =D

My front of my zodiac boat (Aquos 12 feet) lifted up at first before the front hit the water again when using this motor (almost felt like the boat is going to tip over). Is it because it is heavy. It is rated to be able to take that much weight (easily). Am I doing it right? If not, What could possibly go wrong?

She already said no to the guy. But, is it ok for her to be still in contact with the guy?

I am a resident of South Carolina with South Carolina driver license. I just graduated and found a full time job in California, renting an apartment, and just moved there. Now, should I get California driver license, get my car registered, and California insurance in 20 days? Am I considered a resident yet? If not, when is the latest day for me to register my car and etc? 12 months after filing tax return ( CA tax)?

A friend of mine is moving to California. His landlord is asking for a copy of his SSN, passport, and driver license. I understand that management company usually need that for credit check and etc. But, is it ok to give that kind of information for a private owner who are not tied to a company.

Can he just ran a credit check and give him a copy of his driving license, but not SSN. Is that a normal practice there?

With a copy of SSN, passport, and driving license, the owner can do anything with it. Is there anything to protect tenant info? Should he give all those information to the landlord?

Do these islands on lake usually belong to anyone? Is there usually any marking?

Can I land and take a rest there? I don't want to get shot for trespassing.

Just bought an outboard motor from a guy. The identification number/serial number and everything else is correct. But, it says year 2007 on the tittle, but it is printed 2006 on the motor.

Is this going to be a problem? Or is it just a minor mistake and can be corrected by the department of natural resources when I am replacing my title.

I have an 12" inflatable and I am planning to either put 10 hp or 25 hp outboard on it. I've seen people (small and skinnier) doing wake boarding with just 10 hp motor. Most people have 15 hp for two decent sized adults.

More hp doesn't mean more speed if it hasn't been reached its potential max load, correct?

I want to get the 25 hp outboard, but the one that is available is four stroke type. It will be heavy, not saying it will be more expensive. I have little experience on this.

If I cant wake board with it, I will use it for tube boarding or something, just to have some fun out of it. But, I need to know the speed..getting it to a fun level. Will anyone be able to give advice on this?

I am planning to get a 4 hp-10 hp outboard. I found a 2006 mercury 4 hp 4 stroke engine on craiglist. It's only $800. It looks pretty new and Im planning to put it on my inflatable boat (it's rated to take up to 15 hp). It's my first outboard and I have very little experience with it. I just want a decent motor under $1k that works and not giving me too much problem with it as I don't want it to stop in the middle of nowhere. Is that a good buy? Where would be the best place to get one? What should I check before buying?

have 3 different software that record different data (forces, coordinates, and etc). Each has its own recording button. So, I have to click all of them really fast together in order to record all data simultaneously. Is there a simple way that allow me to run all recording with simply one click?

Someone told me that it is easy to do with matlab (something that has to do with object). I can do some programming, but I got no idea on how to start. Is there a program already written for this?

I am trying to find a quick solution to this. I'm trying to hit run on Labview, motion tracking device, and another recording software together. It will be great if anyone can help.

I am wondering if rebuilding Nissan transmission will leave anything on the carfax report.

Nissan has 120k transmission warranty. II heard some whining sound occasionally, so I am wondering if I should just ask the dealer to rebuilt it. It's not bad now or hardly noticeable, but if I change the transmission, will this affect the carfax report at all?

I found a home that I like on a website and I sent and email to the seller agent asking for details. Then, he asked me whether I already have a Realtor. Am I better off with my own Realtor?

I met with 2 realtors before, just a short meetings, and I got their name cards. I wasn't too serious about buying a home back then. Now, I found one that I really like, so should i contact just one of the realtors (the one that I think is nicer) even though the house is not listed on the realtor website?

The reason why I contacted 2 realtors are because they have different listings on their website and I didn't know much. Now, can the seller agent be my agent as well? will I be better off with my own agent?
