If I sign up for a verizon monthly plan today than when would I get the first bill?
Also if I signed up for a plan that cost $100 a month than would my first bill be $200? I need to make sure before I sign any contacts. I got a mountain of bills as it is and don't really want to be overwhelmed by another. Thanks

I already know of Historian Leslie M. Harris' In the Shadow of Slavery: African Americans in New York City but I can't find any others on the subject. Are there anymore books about Northern blacks in the 1800s?

5 AntwortenOther - Cultures & Groupsvor 10 JahrenWhat are Filipinos opinions/treatment of Negritos?
I want to know some of the opinions regarding Negritos and how Filipinos interact with them. I hear out of most aborginials Negritios are treated better then Native Americans, Australians, Anui, and other native people groups but I also hear they aren't treated that well too.
8 AntwortenPhilippinesvor 1 JahrzehntWhy the bias against Yoruichi Shihouin being Black?
I hear everything from her being a dark skinned Japanese person (Afro-Japanese do exist) to a Filipina to Indian but when ever the topic of her being black comes along people say she can't be. They say stupid argument about her not having big lips or a Afro. People accept Tousen as Black with zero objections but Yoruichi who is basically the same color is suddenly South East Asian. I find it hard to believe racism isn't the reason for that. Indian people are much lighter then Yoruchi and its a bit unbelievable to say the creator made her a dark skin Indian on purpose knowing how color sensitive India is. Other Asian races Negritos aside dont get to that shade either and it was even mention once on the show that she's Black.
7 AntwortenOther - Cultures & Groupsvor 1 JahrzehntDo White South Africans really have a right to scream racism?
The wounds of Apartheid may of been stitched shut but there are no pain killers to ease the healing process. I personally think many policies and things that white South Africans complain over deals with the transition of wealth in the Country where Blacks after years of oppression are giving a advantage to whites now so they can catchup. I admit im not the most knowledgeable guy when it comes to that Nation as im just your typical African-American but it seems that many (not all) who cry racism is really crying for the old power structure or worst think equality means "Okay your free, I know we had a few generations head start to accumulate wealth but as of now we are equal...why are you still poor and im not?"
Help explain it to me because I am very curious.

"Hands"
If I could tell the world just one thing
It would be that we're all OK
And not to worry 'cause worry is wasteful
And useless in times like these
I won't be made useless
I won't be idle with despair
I will gather myself around my faith
For light does the darkness most fear
My hands are small, I know
But they're not yours, they are my own
But they're not yours, they are my own
And I am never broken
Poverty stole your golden shoes
It didn't steal your laughter
And heartache came to visit me
But I knew it wasn't ever after
We'll fight, not out of spite
For someone must stand up for what's right
'Cause where there's a man who has no voice
There ours shall go singing
My hands are small I know
But they're not yours, they are my own
But they're not yours, they are my own
I am never broken
In the end only kindness matters
In the end only kindness matters
I will get down on my knees, and I will pray
I will get down on my knees, and I will pray
I will get down on my knees, and I will pray
My hands are small I know
But they're not yours, they are my own
But they're not yours, they are my own
And I am never broken
My hands are small I know
But they're not yours, they are my own
But they're not yours, they are my own
And I am never broken
We are never broken
We are God's eyes
God's hands
God's mind
We are God's eyes
God's hands
God's heart
We are God's eyes
God's hands
God's eyes
We are God's hands
We are God's hands

I am a Democratic but as I see Obama on every channel Viacom own I wonder just how much that private super company has invested in his administration. I don't like to be force fed what to watch and to see this on every channel from BET to TEENNICK it feels kind of eerie. It's a scary reminder how much power the media hold and how it shouldn't align with any political party.

9 AntwortenPhilippinesvor 1 JahrzehntAfrican-American/Indo-Asian solitary?
From personal experience and research it would seem to me that the vast majority of the Indian Diaspora holds unfavorable views about African-Americans. I have met and befriended many Indian people where this was not the case but most seem to harbor nothing but Detestation for us. In American media where Indian producers/actors are on the rise I have even noticed them use old stereotypes of black people that Whites are starting to shy away from. Some employ notions of "Blackness" and commonality when force to enact with us then go on to make some of the most racist black jokes as soon as they think we're not paying attention. To this day I can only think of two movies that feature positive African-American/Indo-Asian solidarity, one being 'Mississippi Masala' and the other being 'Why am I doing this?' (An indie movie).
I think darker Dravidians and Dalits are excluded as I know these groups are more likely to embrace African-Americans as Dr. Velu Annamalai speech which I was lucky enough to hear. I think it’s mainly the fair-skin “Aryan” Indians that hate blacks so much or think themselves better my question is why and what can we do to fix the problem?
1 AntwortDelhi and NCRvor 1 JahrzehntMy dream: Worth pursuing or should I quit now?
my name is Chris and my dream is to be a comic artist and eventually have my own franchise. I'm well aware that I don't need to leave American to do that but a huge part of me would love to create manga/anime and to truly do that a trip to study in Japan seems like the ideal thing to do. I'm currently 22 and speak no Japanese although I am very willing to study, is it too late for me to learn a language go to a foreign Country complete 2-3 years of Manga school and work my way up in the world of mangaka.
I am very reluctant to share this idea of mine mainly because I don't want to be lump in with Otakus and Japanophiles. I don't have yellow-fever at all and suffer no illusions about the possibility of being discriminated against as a Gaijin/Kokojin. I just want to know is it realistic for me to even consider such a career. I have my associate in Graphic Design and would most likely pursue my Bachelor if going to Japan really is a "Fool's dream".
6 AntwortenJapanvor 1 JahrzehntAsian for the (2013) Wonder Woman Movie ?
I heard that Beyonce had put in the bid to play the role of Amazon warrior-princess.
She of course stated that "I want to do a superhero movie and what would be better than Wonder Woman? It would be great. And it would be a very bold choice. A black Wonder Woman would be a powerful thing. It’s time for that, right?”
Fanboys, closet racist and people that hate Beyonce acting cried fouled for her even using her Celebrity to get a role but I was too busy thinking wouldn't a Asian-American be a even bolder choice. It would help shatter all that submissive Asian stereotypes to see a kickass American flag bearing Asian Amazon in the big screen and after the horrible "Whitewashing" of the Last Airbender movie franchise it seems like the least Hollywood could do.

7 AntwortenOther - Cultures & Groupsvor 1 JahrzehntWould I be the only one mad if Sakura got with Naruto instead of Hinata?
I look at Naruto's mom and it's Sakura by a different name basically and she tells him to marry a women like herself. That couldn't be anymore of a indicator of where the story is going but I can't help but hate the idea of Naruto getting with Sakura. Their relationship is comical at best and she has only given Naruto reason after reason not to ever become romantically involved. First she is a groupie, likes Sasuke throughout the first half then moving on to Naruto when it becomes apparent that he's much stronger then the other ninjas.
They try to make it seem like there are real emotions between Sakura and Naruto showing her hugging Naruto after he saved the village but she wouldn't even put her life on the line in order to help.
Sakura is two-faced, she knows Hinata likes Naruto yet messes with him anyway.
Sakura brings little to the table mate-wise, sure she is a medical ninja but people forget Hinata a princess with one of the most powerful bloodlines in the series
Last but not least her personality is annoying.
Hinata character just compliments Naruto character well not to mention the prospect of future stories about a Hyuga with 9 tail level power basically writes itself.

If the five Great Shinobi Nations was an allegory for real nations then what would they be and why?

Konohagakure - Japan - The author is incapable of making it refer to any other nation since he is Japanese.
Sunagakure - Tough but im going to say India - Both places make me think of sand.
Kirigakure - China - The people there have no freedom lol jk
Iwagakure - North Korea - It has military power and is willing to work with international criminals but other then that no one knows too much about it
Kumogakure - America - Their president is black and the nation has a strong military presence enough said.
