If a 1/2 German man marries a 1/8th German woman and they have a child...what percentage German would that child be?

Seriously - Obama's speeches are meaningless. It's light-weight politics that only reinforces what everyone knows and feels and will not change anyone's mind. I support the guy but why put any weight to these silly political gestures?

That the publishing of photos depicting detainees being tortured is a huge mistake?

The pictures from Abu Ghraib set off a firestorm in Iraq and Afghanistan - killings of American contractors and an increase in insurgent activity is directly attributed to the outrage these pictures created.

There are very real consequences to releasing these pictures. Forget whatever political ideal you support and understand that releasing these photos increases the danger for Americans in Iraq and Afghanistan.

And what are the positives of releasing these? It simply is not worth it.

Then at the same time feels the government needs to intervene when determining who should and should not be allowed to marry?

I consider myself an Obama supporter but the resignation of Rick Wagoner at the behest of the Obama administration rubbed me the wrong way. I've dismissed the silly "Socialism" arguments propagated by the right-wing but this is hard to defend.

At BEST it was a political misstep...at worst it was government interference in a matters that should be handled by GM's shareholders.

I did a clean install of windows xp on a hard drive that I had - After running through the installation and the pc restarts, after BIOS runs a cursor blinks in the upper left corner for a moment and then it reads "Reboot and select proper boot device"

There are two items in the boot list on BIOS - the CD ROM and the HD (I assume - they are just long serial numbers listed). I toggle between the two and get the same result.

So Obama doesn't want to give tax cuts to the rich. This is Socialism? Obama wants to give tax cuts to the poor and middle class - that's Socialism? Has the definition of the word changed, because that's not Socialism by any definition given at any University.

Anyone know of any good laid-back, locals-frequented bars in midtown? I just moved here and work on the 6th, 40-50th street. Would like a place in that area that doesn't have too much of the Times Square crowd and is popular amongst 20-30 year olds.
