What is the relationship of time to energy expended?
Let's say a 150 lb. man carries a 90 lb. teen a distance of 100 feet in 1 minute over a flat path. Next he carries the same teen the same distance in half the time. Does he expend more energy in the shorter period of time?

In my sci-fi novel, the planet has two suns, a giant red and a blue sun. The red sun rises first, the blue sun after. The blue sun sets first, then the red sun. For effects I've very high tides in the single large lake that is the biggest body of water on the planet. The planet is dry and dying.
I've got people avoiding mid day sunshine due to high UV radiation. Would the UV radiation be too high to support much plant and animal life? Should I have the blue sun rise first and set last instead (concerning distance from the planet). Would life be possible at all on a planet like this?

I assume there is some sort of artificial intelligence that does this. Is this based upon text descriptions of images, or on the images themselves? I find it annoying that searches for 'big boobs' turn up so many damn Futanari images and even images of men with erections. Is there some kind of conspiracy to plant these images in such searches?

4 AntwortenMartial Artsvor 1 JahrWhat is the purpose of a conductor?
They've been compared to traffic cops. But traffic cops are enforcing the law, and music doesn't have laws, only rules. You can't get into an orchestra without being a good musician in the first place. You have to be able to read music fluently, and practice your part over and over. Musicians aren't just looking at the music, they're also listening to the other performers. I can't even imagine that conductors are like movie directors, who arrange the sets, the lighting, the way the actors interact, and practically everything. So why are they important? Are most of them even composers?

Let's say we have a rod made of oak 2" thick and 16' long. Imagine a weight heavy enough, when placed in the center, to make the rod sag and then break. Now let's put the rod in a support so that only 3" of the rod is protruding. Hang the same weight from that, and the rod doesn't break. Why not? What principle is at work here?
