So my sister and I were recently re-living memories from our childhood and somehow a movie was brought up. For some reason we remember the movie really well but not the title.

Basically this movie revolves around a boy who befriends an alligator who can walk upright. Eventually the alligator saves the boy at the end of the movie from a building that's on fire. I know it's not much to go on, I just got tired of searching; hours if I might add.

Who really killed Jesus Christ? Different people hold differing views. Some are firm on the idea that the Jews were primarily responsible. Others insist that the real culprit was Pontius Pilate. Some may argue that Satan was the force that inspired the whole scenario. Many Christians would, instead, yell out: “We did it! Our sins killed Jesus Christ!”

So let me first start off by saying YES, I do know this in the wrong section.

I'm kind of at a stand still with this problem, I wouldn't even call it an issue just a choice I need help with.

So, I recently started talking with a woman (were both 21) and we hit it off pretty good. Things aren't being pushed and we genuinely enjoy being around each-other. The issue is that she is my sister's boyfriend's cousin. I'm not sure exactly what to do, I know what I want and that's her. She feels the same but she doesn't know if we should because of the situation with her being related to my sister's boyfriend.

The option to doubt is what gives us the free will to explore all possibilities.

-If one has no doubts but only faith, as in religion, then one cannot properly exercise free will in day to day life

-Free will gives us the ability to accept or reject anything we are told and that is what makes us human and unique

-We as human beings have the capacity to understand ourselves and to realize our inner spiritual nature

-Religion seeks to divert our attention away from our inner self and focus it onto an invisible and inconceivable ruler god

-If we choose to buy into this then we are robbed of our personal power and individuality and the authorities can have their way with us

Since the Bible states that God does not desire that anyone perish, but also states that the majority of humankind is going to hell, doesn't this show that God's plan of salvation is a failure even by his own standard? If this outcome is a success, what would count as a failure?

Who was the first person to look at a cow and say, "I think I'll squeeze these dangly things here, and drink whatever comes out"?

Fact or Allegory. The Bible says the Earth is between 6,000 and 8,000 years old, that it was created in 7 days, and that Man is made of dirt and Woman a piece of Man. Most churches today say that this is allegory. What passages of the Bible support it all being just allegory?

Both were born from a "virgin"

Both were only begotten sons

Both were born in a cave

Births announced were by angels

Birth witnesses were by Shepard's

Break in life data between the ages of 12 & 30

Baptized at the age of 30

How these points of coincidence are interpreted depends upon ones view of the Bible:

If it is viewed as an inerrant book, free of error, whose authors were inspired by God, then one would suspect that a massive fraud must have taken place. The events really formed part of Jesus' life because the Bible is free of error. Somehow the events were also attributed to Horus in Egypt for many centuries before Jesus' birth.

If the Bible is viewed as a historical document, like other cultures' holy books, then it is obvious that events in Jesus' life were copied from stories that had been associated with Horus for many centuries before Jesus' birth. The events are fictional. Probably none actually happened in reality.

Free will. Freedom to choose is given to man by God. Man has two main choices: 1) accept the Love of God and, upon death, go to paradise for eternity, 2) Refuse God and, upon death, just die, be utterly damned. How is that freedom of choice when it is the same thing as a gun to your head?

Why do people constantly return to the refrigerator with hopes that something new to eat will have materialized?

The Christians' objection to this argument involves freewill. They say that a being must have freewill to be happy. The omnibenevolent God did not wish to create robots, so he gave humans freewill to enable them to experience love and happiness. But the humans used this freewill to choose evil, and introduced imperfection into God's originally perfect universe. God had no control over this decision, so the blame for our imperfect universe is on the humans, not God.

Here is why the argument is weak. First, if God is omnipotent, then the assumption that freewill is necessary for happiness is false. If God could make it a rule that only beings with freewill may experience happiness, then he could just as easily have made it a rule that only robots may experience happiness. The latter option is clearly superior, since perfect robots will never make decisions which could render them or their creator unhappy, whereas beings with freewill could. A perfect and omnipotent God who creates beings capable of ruining their own happiness is impossible.

Second, even if we were to allow the necessity of freewill for happiness, God could have created humans with freewill who did not have the ability to choose evil, but to choose between several good options.

Third, God supposedly has freewill, and yet he does not make imperfect decisions. If humans are miniature images of God, our decisions should likewise be perfect. Also, the occupants of heaven, who presumably must have freewill to be happy, will never use that freewill to make imperfect decisions. Why would the originally perfect humans do differently?

The point remains: the presence of imperfections in the universe disproves the supposed perfection of its creator.

Most will say no, so who is wrong?

If you actually know anything substantive about major world religions, you know the answer to this question is an emphatic “no.”

The only people claiming that all religions are the same or that all religions are equally true are those people who know little to nothing about world religions, or who are unable to do a little bit of critical thinking.

The major religions of the world profess profoundly different views of the nature of God, the nature of man, the afterlife, the source of evil, and a host of other weighty topics. It is true that the ethical teachings contained in major religions have some commonality, but ethics are but one portion of what constitutes a religion’s core beliefs.

If you are a Christian, then you believe that Jesus is the third person of the Triune God. No other major world religion recognizes Jesus as God in this sense, so clearly somebody is wrong! We can’t all be right because Jesus can’t both be God and not God at the same time and in the same sense.

If Christians are right about Jesus being God, then other religions who deny this fact are wrong about who God is. They get God wrong, in other words. I would say that is a serious error which dramatically undermines the claim that all religions are true.
