  • Why won't the new Messenger finish the download to my laptop w/Vista?

    I have a new laptop that came with Vista installed and have an older version of messenger. I need to d/l the new beta messenger for Vista, but each time I get the download started I get an error message saying the install could not be completed due to other open applications or incomplete installs. I've tried uninstalling my old messenger (8.something I think) and that didn't help. I need to get the new Vista version so I can use the fix to get sound for an online class I take. HELP!

  • why can't I get messenger to install?

    I have vista, but don't want to use the new beta... I just want the regular old messenger (8.1 isn't it?) and will add the fix later.

    Any suggestions? I get part way through with the download of the regular messenger and it quits on me.
