I believe there is a part of us deeper than where we normally live - we live our lives and make our decisions at a very surface level. And there is a second part of us that is deeper; where we have our feelings, protect ourselves and have our emotions.

But deeper still, there is a part of us that makes who we are - what drives us, what we care about, gives us energy, etc. that we rarely know and definitely don't control. Where deep wounds stay that we really want to get rid of, but can't - where our sexuality may derive from and other drives.

More to say - but your thoughts?

It's about the next time I can have a beer, a drink, get loaded... that seems to be the point of many days, or maybe even the lives of many people.

Or going to Vegas, etc. - just about the next good time.

It seems kind of hollow, and ultimately short on meaning, but many people live that way.

Is it selfish? Is it coping with life? Is it easy, or even lazy?

a) Is it a perversion?

b) Is it ok for a man to be sc__wing another man?

c) Is it ok for one partner to act like a woman?

d) Is it something society should accept?

e) Is the only criteria for acceptance based on what the two people think?

Often I see porn defended here...

So... a two dimensional digital image of women and men who will take their clothes off and have sex in front of camera... that does it for you?

They often don't even know each other, and often also have significant personal problems.

Many people say that's great?

Perverted on any level... and damaging to many people who are in it, and to millions who fall into watching it.

I understand that Mormons believe that marriage is eternal (lasting beyond this life) - doesn't this teaching by Jesus address it directly?

The Parable of the Wedding Banquet:

* Marriage at the Resurrection.

"Teacher," they said, "Moses told us that if a man dies without having children, his brother must marry the widow and have children for him. Now there were seven brothers among us. The first one married and died, and since he had no children, he left his wife to his brother. The same thing happened to the second and third brother, right on down to the seventh. Finally, the woman died. Now then, at the resurrection, whose wife will she be of the seven, since all of them were married to her?"

Jesus replied, "You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God. At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven. But about the resurrection of the dead--have you not read what God said to you,

'I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob' ? He is not the God of the dead but of the living."

When the crowds heard this, they were astonished at his teaching.

The physical realm came from the spiritual realm...

... have special insight, and are just smarter than believers? Instead of opening their spiritual eyes and hearts?

Isn't it a trap of deception? If you think you have something that makes you smarter, doesn't that fulfill a need for significance?

I think for many who reject God, it's about them more than anything else, even more than any discussion or point of view. And some cling to it pretty hard, which ironically keeps them from God without seeing that is does so.

It takes spiritual eyes and ears to see and hear the things of God, not through self or physical limits.

Christians, what do you think? Can you give insight into the Kingdom of God that requires acknowledging him, and his life above ours?

Apart from the controversy about 6 literal 24 hours days (which is a metaphor that many sincere Christians take as literal)... where can you cite scientific evidence against the Bible account in the first 3 chapters of Genesis?

The more we discover, the more it aligns with the Genesis account - and there is a reason for that.

I heard he wants too cut the number of Medicare procedures and cut the pay of Medicare doctors to pay for half of his health care plan, and raise taxes (in a recession) to pay the other half.

Any one else hear this?

This is very troubling if it's true, we can't cut care to the elderly - which choosing care by age - and raise taxes now... this makes sense on no level...

Where did the original matter for all that has evolved come from?

If you adhere to Science alone... you can PROVE nothing more than a creationist.
