Hi, guys. This is my story:

I'm 35 now. I like computing and technology. 18 months ago started coding in C#. Recently released my app to windows store,( nothing big:). Is there any job out there in IT industry I could do? If so, What steps do I have to take to get there? Maybe any Apprenticeship or any training I could take? I want to change my profession but I need someone to show me the right direction. Be honest , please.:)

I have started teaching myself C# over a year ago. It's very hard for me. I don't give up but more and more often I have some doubts if its right for me. I start to think that maybe I'm not smart enough. I have no idea what I should expect from myself.

I learn every day average 2 hours. (have no time for more). How do I know If it's right for me or maybe it doesn't make sense in my case?

I've started teaching myself Excel but don't know to what extend I have to be able to use it? If the job is something like Recruitment Consultant or receptionist and they expect me to know Excel, what do they really mean by this?

What tasks do I have to be able to perform using this software so that I could say that I know how to use it?

My vision is that after 5 or even 10 years if necessary be absolutely fluent in crating computer software and make a living by doing this. When I reach my goal I'll be 40 or maybe 45 year old(hope sooner:)).

Some time ago I started teaching myself C# to be able to create apps on Windows Phone.

To be honest I'm a little confused. It's really difficult for me because I've started from scratch and have

absolutely no one to ask a questions while learning. But that's not the point because I'm not here to

complain. The thing is that I need I kind of guideline what to learn first.

I've been doing some C# tutorials that I found on internet and I'm kinda familiar with the basics like

loops, arrays, if statements etc. One thing is that even if i know how to use them in console application,

I don't quite get what role they play in a proper app. for example: array, for each loop. What if could be use for in real app?

Anyway, the main question is:

What am I supposed to learn first?

C# tutorial to know the basics and then phone apps tutorials as soon as possible, or maybe

do more C# tutorials until I know pretty well how to use it on Console Application?

Could you please point me in the right direction ,what the steps are?

OK, here is my example;

I create a game or an app for a mobile phone and turns out to be a good one.

Then a company or someone makes another game or an app that is made better but

based on my idea. What then?

I can find a lot of games that are copies of other games and just look different and are named different but overall it's the same. What about copy rights?

What does it look like in practice? Why is that?

If that is so easy to copy someone's idea why on the other hand there are apps or games that were sold for millions to Yahoo or Facebook. Why these huge companies didn't just make similar applications based on these ideas?

I have been learning English language for a few years now. My level is determined as

"Upper-intermediate". I have a lot to learn yet and want to be more fluent in English.

I want to develop my skills but I came across a kind of "a problem".

I very often find formal and not so often used words in the books I learn from.

The thing is that I don't realize witch ones are very formal and witch slightly formal.

For instance, when I find a new word I'm eager to use it and this is the only way to remember it

permanently, but I hesitate to do it. Being aware of making some basic mistakes and using

“more advanced” vocabulary makes me feel like and idiot.

Do I look like that in my case? What is does it look like form native speakers perspective,

if someone who is not fluent in English uses slightly or more formal language form time to time

and sometimes not being aware of it? How should I behave If I see on someone's face grimace after hearing what I said? Do I make myself to look like an idiot? I mean mainly my workplace.

I checked the requirements of Visual studio and Windows Phone Emulator 8 witch is a crucial thing.

I just want to be a 100% sure that it will work before I buy it.

I mean mainly windows phone emulator.

Some things have to be configured in BIOS but I'm not sure if these options are available in BIOS

A couple months ago I purchased Windows 8 Pro for my laptop running W7 at that time.

Now I'm looking for a new one but most of laptops in stores have installed Windows 8 (basic version).

I'll be needing Pro Version on my new one. The question is:

Can I swap them over and take Pro version from my old one and install it on new one and

take (basic version) from the new one then install it on old one?

(I mean product key of course).

I don't know if I have to buy a new laptop for my new hobby. I've been strugling tor run windows phone emulator. But the question I have to answer first is If I can do it on my machine.

The information I find on websites are not clear. My processor is:

AMD A6 3420M APU with Radeon graphics. Acrording to the aplication called CoreInfo

my processor does not support :

SLAT -second level address translation

and

Hardware Assisted Viritualization

But on another website the processor specification says that it Does!

I honestly have had enough of it. Please tell me what's true and what's not.

I installed Visual Studio 2012 and everything works fine except Windows Phone Emulator. I've tried to find a solution

to the problem but no success. I believe , I set up everything correctly on my laptop and it meets requirements. These are details:

HP Paviolion g6

windows 8.1 pro

processor: AMD A6-3420M APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics 1.50 GHz

installed memory (RAM) 8.00 GB

System type: 64-bit Operating System, x64-based processor

As for BIOS settings, I don't have to many options to configure. Non of them mentioned on MSDN website except one

witch in my BIOS is called viritualization technology- enabled.

I know that my computer is SLAT- capable (whatever that means:) )

In windows features all Hyper-V options are OK.

Precisely, Emulator starts and the screen on it says "Operating System is starting" or something like that, but after 5 minutes nothing happens and the emulator is down.

I'd love to be able build apps for WindowsPhone but have no clue about it. I downloaded SDK from Microsoft website and at the moment trying to do something using their video tutorials but started wondering if it's possible at all. I have completely no experience in this field. I have no one to help me with this. If its possible, how many hours of learnig would I need to be able build my first app?

Hi, I'm struggling with something that seams to be easy but I can't find a clear explanation.

Below, There are some sentences and I don't know which are correct. Maybe not just one is correct but there's a difference in interpretation.

Situation 1.

(I'm just talking to someone about my baby)

When She's watching TV She learns new words.

or

When She watches TV She learns new words.

Which option is correct? Both or any?

Situation 2

(I'm just telling someone about my daily routine)

When I go to work I take my keys with me.

or

When I'm going to work I take my keys with me.

If I added the word "always" would that change witch option correct is?
