What is the difference between regular iodine and radioactive iodine?
I know this might be a stupid question, but I am relatively new to chemistry and physics. So, what is the difference between regular iodine and radioactive iodine?
6 AntwortenChemistryvor 1 JahrzehntIs there a rule regarding excessive talking during a court hearing?
Only legal aides, law school students, law librarians, lawyers, and attorneys may answer this question please. I am trying to find a rule regarding excessive talking by audience members during a court hearing, in which the audience members were definitely being disruptive. They even interrupted the respondent (defendent) while he was giving his testimony, and the ASL interpreter, during the hearing. (They were using sign language, and so while the commissioner didn't hear them--obviously---, their signing was recorded on the courtroom video.) Did they violate any official rules by doing this excessive talking (signing), in the state of Washington? Is it regarded as improper court order? Please provide references. Thanks!

Why are American Sign Language and British Sign Language so different from each other? I noticed this, and am perplexed as to why this is.
2 AntwortenLanguagesvor 1 JahrzehntThe opposing side's witnesses in the audience kept talking during the entire court hearing in sign language...?
Note: This question is only for legal aides, law students, former law students, and attorneys.
During the entire court hearing, the opposing side's witnesses kept talking to each other in American Sign Language, even talking to the interpreter while she was busy interpreting and saying things about me behind my back while I was giving my testimony, such as calling me a liar, and "shame on her." It's not on the court transcript but it's on the visual part of the audio-visual recording CD. The court commissioner did nothing about this. I am preparing to submit a detailed log of all of the signs that were said in a written complaint to the local courthouse today. What does this kind of behavior fall under? Is it contempt of court, or what exactly is this? What will the court house's most likely response be to this? Is there any kind of rule regarding silence in the audience-seating section of the court room, and does it apply to talking in sign language? Is this considered disruptive behavior? Thank you very much for your time.
2 AntwortenLaw & Ethicsvor 1 JahrzehntIn a protection-order case,respondant is deaf & doesn't know English,is he required to request an interpreter?
I filed a domestic-violence (DV) protection order (P.O.) petition against my deaf abuser who does not know English. He never requested an interpreter from the police and the court prior to the court hearing for the permanent P.O. Was he required to do that in order for one to be assigned to him after he had been served the temporary-protection order papers and before the court hearing? One never was, and his mother was his interpreter by default until the hearing.
3 AntwortenLaw & Ethicsvor 1 JahrzehntIs it possible to disprove hearsay lies that are said against me in court by witnesses? What should I do?
Three witnesses recently lied against me in court while under oath, saying that I said at Thanksgiving dinner on 2008 that because I am under psychiatric care I can lie and say whatever I want and get away with it. The court commissioner accepted that statement as credible, and when I rebutted by saying that I do not recall having ever made that statement, he said that the fact that I made that statement threw doubt on the rest of my testimony. Basically, it caused my testimony to be discredited.
I am not under psychiatric care, and also was not in November of 2008, and I have the medical records to prove it. But, I have had an awful time trying to prove that I did not make the alleged statement during the Thanksgiving dinner.
Is it possible to disprove this hearsay? Is this discrimination based on a disability that I do not have? Is hearsay supposed to be accepted as evidence in a district court? Might this be grounds for disciplinary action against the court commissioner?
I am planning to re-file for the domestic violence protection order that I was denied based in large part on the lies of the defendant and the three witnesses from his immediate family (his mother and two sisters).
What should I do?

Three lying witnesses and a lying defendant (all lying under oath) caused me to lose my civil domestic-violence-protection order hearing on Feb. 5, 2009. I am preparing to re-open my case with new evidence refuting the statements of the defendant. Am I allowed to cross-examine a defendant and witnesses during their testimony in a civil protection-order hearing while going pro-se?
