Please if you have two minutes to spare, I would appreciate if you could complete this survey (see below). It's really short. We are a group of 4th year students reading a degree for B.Sc (Hons) Biology and Chemistry at the University of Malta. Basically we have a project where we're going to create a board game where players "create" a business. The business in question will be based on a scientific principle.. The general idea is to "create" a business with a scientific process going on, and in the end to produce a ready-made product. We've come up with a list of themes, but we would like your opinion as to which one would interest you most!

hi pls i need some serious help!!

i forgot my windows password, exactly after i created it (i know it sounds dumb, but i was distracted). I am still logged on though, and i will not switch off my pc for quite some time (maybe I remember it) , but is there something i can do to retrieve it or delete it?? thanks!!

I adopted a homeless orphaned kitten at about 3-4 weeks old, now she's 4-5 weeks old and is loads better physically. My question is this: I keep reading on the internet that kittens adopted at a very young age tend to have behavioural problems since they are not well socialized with others of the same species, and that they grow up to be adults who "play" by biting and scratching because they never learned that it hurts when they do that.

I play a lot with her and occasionally she does nip a bit too hard but i always pull back my finger and say No! loudly and sharply...but i wonder if that will do the trick.

Is there anybody who has had a similar experience in hand-raising orphaned kittens from an early age? Did you notice any of these problems when they grew up? All help and tips & hints are greatly appreciated, thanks! :)

I took in an abandoned stray kitten a week and a half ago. She's about 4 weeks old, underweight. She hasn't passed stool for ages. My vet first suggested some paraffin oil and she only passed stool once, and she really had to strain. I haven't given her paraffin oil again though, cos i think it made her very ill. Now I'm trying a probiotic but to date it hasn't worked yet.

in short my question is this: is it normal for 4 week old kittens not to pass stool often? Am I making a fuss for nothing?

P.S. by the way, she hasn't gained any weight in a whole week! i'm getting a bit worried about that too.

Last week I found a 4 week old stray orphaned kitten and took her home. She is quite underweight, and was ok just until this morning when she suddenly seemed like she was dying. She went all limp and looked like she was unconscious or semi-conscious. I gave her some kitten's formula milk (I thought she was dehydrated, she hadn't eaten a lot in the early morning) and at least now she's not unconscious any more but is sleeping very deeply. Before she became unwell, she was very lethargic but i just thought she was sleepy (she is usually sleepy in the morning). What do you think is wrong with her? Has she any chances of surviving? I'm really saddened by all of this, I've kind of grown to love her over this week. Also she's been quite sleepy almost all of the time during this past week, but people told me it's normal for kittens to be sleepy. What do you guys think?

I am trying to go through a lifestyle change that includes increased exercise and weight loss, however I am scared that I might be losing weight too fast. since 21st January i lost 14 pounds. Is it normal or is there a possibility that I am burning muscle rather than fat? My calorie intake is 1300 daily minimum, and i'm walking an hour or more every day. I know i should be happy with 14 pounds loss but i'd prefer to lose weight at a slower pace if it means that i won't regain it once i stop dieting. Thanks for your help :)

hi, i'd like to breed my pearl gouramies, but the male isn't even trying to make a bubblenest, even though he has full breeding colours.. The females are swollen with eggs but he's apparently not so interested.. How do I get him in the mood? Note: I bought them a few days ago, could it be because they're still stressed? Infact they're still in quarantine. They are about 11cm big. The females seem to be nervous. I guess I should leave breeding them for later when they're settled down.

Also, how big must the breeding tank be? Thanks

I am going to buy my first mountainbike, nothing special..i just want a good quality bike suitable for a beginner like me, that will last quite some time (years) without problems.

There are two bicycles currently on my mind:

Option B: 21 speed, shimano V-brakes, normal rims, front suspensions, 2 yr guarantee on the frame, one-size-fits-all frame, 191euros, brand name is Esperia (an italian brand) and the model is called Torpado

I have heard rumours that Esperia import certain bicycle parts from developing countries (where parts are produced cheaply but are very low quality), but I am not quite sure if this is true..

can a honey gourami have neon tetra disease?

this is the third time a honey gourami has fallen ill of a "mysterious" disease which I'm suspecting is Neon tetra disease. It has faded colours overall but is especially faded (almost white) just below the dorsal fin. It barely swims and sits on the bottom for most of its time. It eats very little. I'm keeping it isolated and in a small tank, and I do water changes daily.

I had two other honey gouramies that died during these past three weeks, and they exhibited very similar symptoms. When they died and I took them out of the water, I noticed their bellies were rather larger than usual, but no fin rot or signs of fungus anywhere.

I am suspecting it is either the true Neon tetra disease or maybe the false neon tetra diease? (but I don't know anything about the latter except that it's caused by bacteria rather than a protozoan). Can gouramies catch NTD in the first place? Is it too late to cure this fish or do I have to euthanise it

are african dwarf frogs compatible with dwarf gouramies, pearl gouramies, honey gouramies and moonlight gouramies? I thought I'd get a few frogs in my tank.

hi, i have just bought a new aquarium. It has been running without fish for the past five days. The guy in the shop where I bought my aquarium said i could get ONE fish after 3 days of starting up my aquarium, then introduce the next fish after 2 weeks, so that the tank starts to cycle.

I plan to get gouramies (sparkling, pearl, dwarf, honey), 2 corys, a pleco, and some neon tetra.

Which kind of fish do you suggest I start with?

Honestly what do you think of my art? I was never taught anything, except by self (keep that in mind) but I'd love to be able to learn, and if i'd have enough positive feedback I'd start going to lessons etc. I know there are loads of mistakes and the only thing I have available are pencils, so that's about it (although I do have only one in watercolour)..

i have a report to do, involving sodium diphenylamine sulphonate... i have a solution of iron (II) with some sulphuric acid, and some potassium nitrate...so iron nitrate forms after boiling this solution.... however some excess iron remains, and i have to find that out by titrating with standard dichromate using SODIUM DIPHENYLAMINE SULPHONATE as an indicator with some phosphoric acid. An intense purple colouration is obtained at end-point...

now my question is..how does this indicator work? (I'd like a clear equation or a link to a site that contains the equation) also how does it interact with the dichromate and iron?

what can i give my boyfriend for his birthday...any ideas? I've actually run out of ideas myself, cos i'v already bought him pretty much everything that ppl normal buy for each other...(i've already got him 2 bracelets, choker, ring, 2 t-shirts...) And when i ask him whether he actually NEEDS anything in particular, he always says no.. is there anything you think men would like as a birthday gift? (within reasonable expense ofcourse!!)
