  • Tips on styling my shaggy/curly hair?

I posted this question last night but it got deleted (maybe because I didn't add the last 2 letters in 'shaggy', silly me!). Anyways, I cut my hair from waist-length to collar bone length and that's kind of made my hair a lot more curlier because it's not so weighed down. I kind of intentionally cut it into a shaggy haircut, but it doesn't show so much because of the curl. I was hoping for some advice on 2 main things:

    1) how to relax the curl to a loose wave using product only (and a blowdryer if necessary, I don't want to be too dependent on straighteners except on the bangs I unintentionally created). What product/s would you recommend?

    2) for regular users of pomade, what one do you think works best for a bed head look?

I'd like these products to be reasonably priced, and available to buy in Britain. And any other advice you give will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance!

  • What BFMV song is this?

My friend loaned me the CD and I've had to type up the track list myself. The tracks aren't in order according to Wikipedia and I don't know what track 17 is called. The song mentions something about "bloodshot eyes" near the beginning, and if it helps it's 5:48 in length. Thanks in advance!

  • Emo, punk, goth... what?!?

How do you define emo from 'punk', or emo from 'goth'. From what I can see, most people call what I would call either 'punk' or 'goth', 'emo'. It's a little confusing. And while I'm at it, why is the word 'emo' used with negative connotations?

PS, I wasn't too sure which category this would go under, so I opted for this one.

  • Eyelure Naturalites false lashes - what happens if...?

I don't wear mascara with them? My lashes are kinda long enough as it is, I don't want to look like a drag queen.

PS this is my first time applying falsies!

  • What are the best books on clinical depression?

It's for a project I'm going to start in September/October, but I'm thinking it would be good to start reading up on it ASAP. Medical books could be useful, but I've only just finished my AS year, so maybe a book that's not too full to the brim with psychiatry terminology. Thanks a bundle in advance - and please, please, PLEASE... no dodgy answers!

  • Extended Project Qualification... could you please help with ideas?

There's this thing I want to do at college - a research project worth half an A-Level. I have a few ideas as to how I would like to go about it:

    1) I could write a collection of monologues based on any playwright, e.g Sarah Kane (I studied part of a play in GCSE Drama).

    2) Something related to palaeontology - (for example the recent discovery of the 'missing link')

    3) A report into the history of animal testing in medicine.

As you can see, I have more of an idea as what to do with my first idea, but I am an aspiring vet (I don't think I've said this enough on here!!!) and I have always an interest in animals - past and present. I just want to know what would be a suitable question to answer in my report. This would look good to any university. Any ideas are appreciated and thanks in advance!

  • Vet surgery placement (UK)?

I'm an AS student, aspiring to study veterinary medicine. Work in a surgery or hospital is, to some universities, valuable (and, to others, required!). The thing is, a lot of the surgeries I have visited and written to have told me that they do not have the right facilities to hold voluntary placements - my guess is that they are worried about how safe the patients' owners may feel in a vet who lets unqualified teenagers through the doors. So what do I do?

Any advice is (within reason!) appreciated; I would also appreciate answers from vets/vet med students from the city - particularly London - on how they got their placement and where.

    Thank you!

  • Animal-friendly products?

Hey guys... I'm organising a fashion show at my college and - as part of an animal rights society (we aren't militant) - I'd like to know where I can get make-up that hasn't been tested on animals. I know about Barry M but I am hesitant about The Body Shop since L'Oreal has taken them over.

Any info would be very much appreciated. Thanks a bunch.

  • What will happen to my hair?

So, I have quite thick hair (I'm asian, and my hair is thick like afro hair but the texture is still asian... ish) and I have half-head highlights. I've bought Live XXL in Cosmic Blue for my entire head, but loads of people have said that they kept dying their hair and it ends up uber-thin and uber-short. Would that happen to my hair too?

Is there a way to prevent that (except for the obvious not-colouring-my-hair idea!)?

    Thank you in advance.

  • So, I'm going to buy an eyelash conditioner...?

I have 2 in mind, they are both similar in price. First, is the Talika one, which is £12.50 for 4.2ml (the same amount as a normal mascara) or £20 for the 10ml; there is also Model Co's Lash + Brow Growth Stimulator, which is £18 - but I don't know how many mils it is... does anyone know?

Also, does anyone know of any US websites that sell eyelash conditioners and ship to the UK (price max $40 - for the item, obviously... not shipping, that would be daft!)?

Oh, and if anyone has actually tried any of the items noted above, were they worth it?

    Thanks in advance!

  • What do I need to do to get flawless skin?

Naturally, I mean... and without the use of collagen and Botox.

I'm 16 and even though I do have spots, they have never been that bad. Apparently now even my mum and best friend can't see the spots on my forehead, even when I do. I suppose they are quite small, but they are very annoying. Is there a product that I could use - a face wash that anyone would recommend? Also what types of food that are good for the skin (I'm staying away from the chips now lol!).

I also have some darkness under my eyes. I have heard that asians are more prone to discolouration near the eyes - but apart from drinking a lake full of water and sleeping for a million years, what can I do to get rid of this?

    Thank you all in advance!

  • Can asian hair be relaxed?

I've heard from certain people that the chemicals that are used to relax afro hair will damage asian hair, but some people disagree. Are there any professional hairdressers who can help me with this - or any asians who have had their hair relaxed (and please, don't tell me to get a ghd!)?

    Thanks to everyone in advance!

  • Is anyone else starting to think that the guy who plays Christian in Eastenders is quite... dishy?

I just thought I'd ask. He looks quite cute, from a girl's perspective... And, seeing as the character's gay, are there any guys who think he's hot too?

I just thought I'd ask that one to make the overall Q more interesting... seeing as it is admittedly pointless as a question. But I can't help it!

  • Errr... a little eyebrow problem...?

Okay, last year I was plucking my eyebrows and trying to get a distinct arch... it didn't work. I overplucked. On one eyebrow. Embarrasing.

It's starting to grow back now, but it's sooo slooow and I'm not the patient type, so if anyone could tell me how to speed up the whole growing back process I'd be really grateful... And I wouldn't mind my actual eyebrows being thicker either, so if anyone knows how to do that (minus the eyebrow pencil/shadow or mascara) I'd be real grateful...

    Thanx a bunch

And "Ha ha ha you're so funny (not)" to whoever's gonna come up with 'witty' answers...

  • My Dad's Birthday's Coming Up... Need A Little Help, Please!!!?

I smelt the new Giorgio Armani perfume, Acqua Di Gio, in Glamour - it is gorgeous! My mum said it would be perfect for Dad, so I wanna get it.

Does anyone know where to get it (I'm a Londoner... Eastender... Cockney lass, whatever you wanna call me!) and how much it costs?

I would be extremely grateful to anyone who offers help!

  • So, about these komodo dragons...?

Well, if my science teacher is right and komodo dragons are asexual... why the hell would they mate? Would they not find it more convenient to just reproduce asexually, rather than only meet to mate (they are solitary)? This question is more to Bollo than anyone, really... I wanted to be a zoo keeper - actually I still want to be a zoo keeper!

My theory is that female dragons have a storage area for a partner's sperm - in case they cannot find a mate the next time they need to reproduce (there are animals that do this).

Thanks in advance to those who answer... and all theories welcome (no matter how wacky - wacky I can handle!).
