  • If I install solar panels myself, am I still applicable for rebates (AZ)?

I've been looking at grid tie solar power systems. From preliminary calculations, with a 2.5 kw system for $4,100 (self installed), I can offset my electric bill by about 50% per month. I've been looking in to the tax incentives as well. As an Arizona resident with power through SRP, it looks like I may be eligible for a couple hundred dollars rebate from SRP, 25% from Arizona, and 30% from federal. However, looking at SRP's incentive program, I have to have a licensed contractor do the installation. That got me to thinking whether or not I could get a rebate from Arizona or the federal government if I installed the system myself. Does anyone happen to know how these rebates work? All of the searching I have been doing is not specific to my situation.

Secondly, I know that the federal is a tax credit. Say I owe $5000 in taxes, would I then only have to pay $3770 in taxes (5000 - 4100*.3)? Or tax credit subtracted from my taxable income?

  • Is there a virtual binary options app for Android?

A while back, I downloaded Stock Market Simulator Pro to play around with stocks without risking my own capital - just a fun way to pass the time when I had a few spare minutes. I've recently read about binary options (and yes, I know they are just a masked version of gambling). I would like to play around with a virtual account. I have done a bit of research, but can't seem to find an app that offers a virtual account option. Does anyone know of a virtual binary options app for Android?

  • How do calculate the p-value bounds on Chi Square?

    I'm presented with the question:

Suppose that we are testing H_0: σ^2 = σ_0^2 versus H_1: σ^2 > σ_0^2 with a sample size of n = 15. Calculate bounds on the P-value for the following observed values of the test statistic (use 3 decimal places for your answer, answers are exact):

    (a) X_0^2 = 21.65

    (b) X_0^2 = 17.85

    (c) X_0^2 = 25.35

    (d) X_0^2 = 26.55

    Answers in the form _ < P-value < _

I'm trying to do this with the calculator. I thought it was: x^2cdf(21.65,200,14) for the upper bound and subtract .05 for the lower bound. This isn't correct though. Can anyone help out?

  • Live in AZ, buying a car in CA - what do I need to drive the car back to AZ?

I live in AZ and I'm buying a car in CA. I need to drive the car back to AZ, but am a little concerned about not having a license plate. I'll have the title, bill of sale, and proof of insurance. Does anyone have information on what I need, what I can do, or if I can drive back without plates?

  • What do I need to purchase a used car in another state (live in AZ, purchase in CA)?

I'm a resident in Arizona but found a used car in California that I would like to purchase. I've done some searching through forums, but was hoping someone might be able to give me consolidated information or a link to where I can find this information regarding registration, license plate (will temp work?), insurance, in-transit permit, etc. Furthermore, I was pre-approved for an auto loan through TruWest Credit Union. The loan shouldn't have any restrictions when purchasing out of state, right?

Does California tax on used car purchases? If so, how much?

I just bought this computer tower: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005869A7K/ref=oh... and received it today only to find that my power supply doesn't fit. It appears that it needs a power supply that is only 75 mm tall. I can't find one anywhere. Anyone know where I can find one?

  • How do you initialize a D Flip Flop?

I'm working on one of my projects and I'm having trouble with my flip flops. The project is to design the circuit for a gas pump that has a handle and a sensor. When the handle is down, the pump pumps, but when the sensor is activated, the pump shuts off. It will pump again until a second high pressure is read, at which point the pump shuts down completely until a manual reset is done (not part of the project). I'm working on the Mealey design since it's a little smaller.

Essentially, when my handle is high and my sensor is low, I'm getting an X for my output and I don't know why. How do I initialize the Flip Flop?

  • Probability question?

An instructor gives his class a set of 16 problems with the information that the next quiz will consist of a random selection of 6 of them. If a student has figured out how to do 10 of the problems, what is the probability the he or she will answer correctly:

    a) all 6 of the problems

    b) at least 5 of the problems

I'm usually pretty good at probability, but I'm not sure I even understand the question. An explanation would be fantastic, but by this point, all I really need are the answers.

    g) a_n = n*a_{n-1}, a_0 = 5

  • Given the acceleration vector, find the velocity and position vectors?

Given that the acceleration vector is a(t)=(-16cos(-4t))i+(-16sin(-4t))j+(1t)k , the initial velocity is v(0)=i+k, and the initial position vector is r(0)=i+j+k, compute:

    A: The velocity vector.

    B: The position vector.

I got the velocity vector as: v(t)=(4sin(-4t)+1)i+(-4cos(-4t)+4)j+(t^2/2+1)k. For the life of me, I cannot get the position vector! Any help?

  • Someone owes me money and won't pay - what's my best course of action?

I had a roommate that I lent $260 in order to pay the security deposit at his new place. The deal was he had 3 days to pay me back, plus $40 lending fee and another $85 that he already owed me, totaling $385. There would be 10% interest for each day late. On a notepad, I went ahead and wrote it all out, dated, and both he and I signed the agreement. Repayment was due on the 25th of January. It has now been 11 days, meaning he technically owes me 385 * 1.1^11 or $1100.

Here's the catch - he now lives in Las Vegas, NV (I'm in Tempe, AZ), or so his Facebook said before he blocked me. He also blocked my phone number and possibly changed his number completely. He left enough of his stuff behind that I can make my money back by selling off his stuff.

Just wondering if I have any case, any way to sue him in a small claims court, etc or just leave well enough alone and sell of what he left behind.
