Today, I got a brand new multi-effect guitar pedal. But I plugged it in, and it didn't work. I'm certain it was plugged in the way it's supposed to be—guitar into the input, output into the amp—but it wasn't working. The battery was in, I know the cables work, and changing amps doesn't do anything. Is there any reason that I'm missing, or is the pedal itself just malfunctioning?

I'm talking about a European one.

Where and/or when would you go?

Some of the ones that annoy me the most are:

It's boring - If the music creates any emotion in you, even annoyance, it's not boring.

The band/singer changed their sound - Congratufuckinglations. You have ears. You can tell the tiniest difference in a band's sound, and nitpick what you don't like. You can be the elitist who prefers songs from one time over some from another. Some extremists even refuse to listen to ANYTHING recorded after or before a certain point (although in some cases, this may be reasonable).

It's too slow/fast - You tempo nazi.

It's too quiet/loud - See above, replace tempo with volume. Also, too loud? Turn the volume down. Too quiet? Turn the volume up.

It's too mainstream - Okay, two problems with this. One, everything is mainstream these days. Two, you just look like a pompous asshole. There are some good mainstream artists, you know.

What are some of your least favorite reasons for someone not liking certain music?
