What is the spherical coordinates equation for a torus?
I have a graphing program on my ipad that does both regular x, y, z functions and spherical cooridnate functions, r, theta, and phi. I have tried to graph a simple torus, but no luck. On the web I found the parameterized equation for a torus but simply adding those up doesn't work. I then found a regular coordinate equation and tried to convert it using the standard coordinate tranformations but that creates a strange ploynomial equation of r, and using the siple quadratic formula solution gave me a strange equation that also didn't work. The closest i have come is a simple r=sin(phi), but that just gives me a torus with zero major radius, and an inside radius of 1/2. I can't figure out how to stretch this torus out so it becomes a donut. Maybe there is no way to do it.

It seems to me absurd. You've got this Jesus guy who supposedly rose from the dead a few days after he was killed by the Romans. But he only shows himself to at most a few hundred people and then promises to come back. Then he disappears for over 2,000 years with nary a peep. And his story doesn't even get written down until decades after he's gone. And we are not only supposed to believe this, but we're supposed to worship this guy "on faith." To me it just doesn't seem like a good way for the supreme being to communicate his desires for us to properly worship him. Outside of the fact that it makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside why do you buy this story?
