i have a dell inspiron 6400 and after a bit of a virus attack a couple of days ago my volume up and down and the mute buttons at the front of my keypad have stopped responding. They still light up when I click them but dont made the slightest bit of difference to the volume. Anyone had the same problem or know any fixes? It would be much appreciated!

Hey was wondering if anyone could help me, I'm at the end of my tether with messenger!.

I initially downloaded the newest version of messenger (2009) about 6 months ago and had lots of problems with it so changed back to 8.1 which worked well. Now I am not able to run 8.1 (i think msn are not supporting it anymore) and had to upgrade and am having the same problems.

There are a number of things going wrong. Firstly when tryng to sign into messenger, this takes a very long time (up to 5mins) eventually I am told i cannot sign into messenger as my contacts cannot be imported (error code 80191002).

Furthermore whilst messenger is running none of my internet based programs - i-tunes and internet explorer 7 are able to operate. They freeze and become non-responding. This is only remedied on completely exiting messenger whereupon all programs function normally.

I have tried installing, reinstalling and repairing. I have tried completely wiping all Live programs off my system. And I'm am pretty sure my PC is clean, no viruses or malware. Nothing seems to be working and the problems only occur with messenger.

Anyone got any suggestions? It was so lovely with 8.1, what with it actually working and not messing my other programs up!

Hello just wondering if anyone knows how to set individual error bars for each bar of a bar chart? Excel has a feature where i can set all the error bars on my graph to the same thing but as i had two sets of data and took a mean of each (so now have two bars on my graph) their standard deviations are different and i need to show this.

hey was wondering if anyone could help interpret a reoccurring dream theme for me? The dream itself isn't reoccurring but i have had about five dreams recently (past fortnight) involving two pools of water. The first pool is always muddy and i can never see through it - something bad usually happens there for example last night the murky water was filled with crocodiles or somebody will fall in and i have to jump in and get them. The dream then progresses and eventually i'll end up near clear blue water. i'm usually worried about something bad happening in the clear water as well. sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. What does this mean? i'm sure its symbolic somehow.

I was working in the US over the summer and have just received my W2 form. I didn't pay very much in tax and my income was below the $3500 threshold. Do I still need to file a tax return?

I don't think i'm legally obliged but I know america is really strict on these things! And i don't want to have any trouble should i decide to go back. If someone could confirm for me that would be great.

whats the difference between fans and contacts? all my fans are also my contacts, so confused :s

i'm really interested in doing a postgraduate in medicine in the US after i finish my dgree here in Scotland but i was wanting to know:

Is it easier to get into American Universities for medicine than British ones?

Would my degree still count the same as a British one to employers?

Would it be very expensive? :s i'm not sure where i would get funding as it would be my second degree.

Any help with any of my questions would be really appreciated! Thank you!
