  • Believers: Can you be wrong about God?

I've met a lot of people with strong beliefs about religion. But while non-believers often say 'I could be wrong/I hope I'm wrong', religious people don't seem to be able to make this simple admission of fallibility.

Is admitting the merest possibility that you might be wrong about something (or everything) so hard? If you are certain you cannot be wrong, doesn't that make you irrational? After all, if everyone is certain, the vast majority of them are wrong. You might be one of them.

  • Believers: Can you be wrong about God?

I come across a lot of religious people who claim they are rational people, but at some point they always, at least in part, maintain that their faith is unwavering.

In other words, they claim it is not possible they are wrong.

If you claim this, shouldn't that be an indicator that you are irrational? After all, if everyone believed this, nothing would ever change. No one would ever learn. No conflicts would ever be resolved.

  • Global warming 1 degree temperature increase?

I've commonly read that the recent global warming temperature increase has been a worldwide average increase of 1 degree Fahrenheit (+ - .32) over the past century.

However, I'm wondering what that average is? Is it a yearly mean increase? A daily mean increase? Some other measure?

If anyone knows I'd love to see a reference.

  • Creationists: Is it possible God does not exist?

I ask this because I often see creationists asking 'evolutionists' if they believe evolution can be wrong, or if another possibility exists.

It is an important question. If a person believes they cannot be wrong, that belief is not scientific, and it has no place in science.

So, do you believe it is possible that God does not exist?

  • Why is it that the people who claim to be the most moral are the most dishonest?

Have you ever noticed how those who proclaim their morality are often the ones who are the most dishonest? The ones who lie, cheat, etc?

    There is evidence supporting this:

This is a prime example of why people of faith have it backwards. You are good person if you do good things. Believing you are a good person doesn't mean that what you do is good. Rely on evidence, not belief.

    What do you say?
