I have virus on my computer that won't let me open anything including antivirus?
I got a virus on my comp tonight that won't let me open anything including AVG antivirus software or the task manager. There is an icon called "antivir solutions pro" in the taskbar. It keeps trying to open sites in IE. I turned off the Internet connection. Is there any help you can offer me? I haven't tried to restart yet because I've tried that in the past with other computers and the problem would only get worse...
5 AntwortenSecurityvor 1 JahrzehntFor my amended 2009 tax return do I need to attach my original 1098-T form?
I realized I could get a tax credit after I e-filed my taxes for 2009. So I filled out the amended form. I have a Copy B (for student) of my 1098-T, but not the original (I assume there is a Copy A, but after Turbo Tax told me I wasn't getting a credit, I put it somewhere and cannot find it right now). Is it okay for me to attach a copy of this copy for my amended return?
3 AntwortenUnited Statesvor 1 JahrzehntWhich computer/processor is better?
I ordered a new computer, a HP Pavilion A6547c with an Athlon 64x2(B) 5000+ 2.6GHz processor. However I received a HP Pavilion A6512p with an Intel (R) Pentium (R) Dual CPU E2200 2.20 GHz processor.
Common sense is telling me that I got screwed on the processor right? Is it a big enough difference to complain and send back the computer?
Its buy.com by the way, and this is the second one they sent me because the first had a dead hard drive, I'm really about to scream right now because nothing is going right.
7 AntwortenDesktopsvor 1 JahrzehntCPU causing monitor to black out or Video Card?
My lcd monitor has been blacking out for a few seconds then coming back on for the past month. I thought it was a problem with the monitor, and have started the process of getting it fixed since it is still under warranty. However, I plugged in an old monitor to use with my computer and the problem started happening again (not as frequently, but I did notice more interference on the crt monitor, I think the same thing just caused the lcd to go black). So I tested my lcd on another computer in my house and it worked fine. (at this point I'm about to scream).
then I tested my computer with my lcd monitor in a different outlet, thinking maybe the electrical in my room is just messed up (possibility, my house is old). But the monitor blacked out just like it always has been, meaning its something with MY computer.
SO... my question is, is there something wrong with my computer? Could it just be the video card? (I have an Nvidia FX 5200--drivers all updated)
I'm so sick of this problem.
5 AntwortenLaptops & Notebooksvor 1 JahrzehntMy lcd monitor blacks out for a few seconds then turns back on...?
I have a Westinghouse L1975NW monitor that will black out for a few seconds then come back on when I am watching DVDs, videos online, and running certain programs (architecture/design programs while rendering 3D views). I first thought it was a video card problem (I have an NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200). I upgraded the drivers for that. Still had the problem. The monitor is only 11 months old, so I'm reluctant to say it is just use that has caused this problem.
I then tested an old CRT monitor and tested it by watching a DVD and doing a 3D rendering. No problem.
Does anyone know if this is a problem that could be easily fixed? or have you had a similar problem and have a solution.
Luckily I've only had it 11 months and it is still under warranty for another month. But I hope I don't have to send it back.
Thanks for any suggestions
1 AntwortMonitorsvor 1 Jahrzehntafter installing new sound card, sound on PC is scratchy?
I installed a Compusa 4 channel sound card PCI 32bit in my E-machines T2042 when my onboard sound suddenly stopped working. the sound coming out of the speakers is so scratchy that I haven't been able to use them at all. I have tried using other speakers but nothing helps. I've uninstalled/reinstalled the drivers, tried installing the card in different PCI slots, but nothing helps. Does anyone have any suggestions to help me?
