  • How do I make an original Vocaloid?

I have an idea I've been wanting to do, but I don't want an existing voice to be used, so I'd rather not build off an old one. Is there a program I can buy that lets me make an original voice I can use for music? Preferably one I could use commercially if I ever wanted to? I want to make a 100% original character (or as close as one could get with a bought program). I don't want to sing myself, unless autotuned, and even then I probably would be to nervous to sing... (Which is why I want a vocaloid-style program)

Thank you, any help is great.

  • I have 2 Guppies left, what now?

I originally bought five male Guppies after several people here, and websites, told me I could have all males. I didn't want to cull babies so I got no females. One guppy seemed to be doing a courtship dance, so I assumed one was a female by mistake, despite the male fin. One by one the other three died, and at first I thought it was the filter. Now I see the last two Guppies fighting. Is there anything I can do? Getting females is not an option. The tank is a filtered, airbubbled, heated, planted ten gallon. Should I separate them? I have a half gallon tank, but I know nothing should be forced to live in that tiny thing save for maybe a shrimp. The two left are Cobra Guppies if that makes a difference.

  • Ghost Shrimp in a black light tank?

I was wondering if I could set up a smaller tank like the ones they sell for Glofish for Ghost Shrimp. Like that hexagonal Glofish tank they sell in Walmarts. Will the Black light make them glow? I would assume so since they are white-ish. I want to add plants in the tank too, would being in a sun lit window keep the plants alive, or would I need a separate light for the plants?

Also, there would be no other fish, besides the shrimp, in the tank. NO Glofish, just the tank made for Glofish (Which is way to tiny for even a single Glofish, but I digress).

  • Buying fish online, anyone know a good site?

I've been looking around for web stores that sell fish (specifically Dwarf Puffers /Pea Puffers).

I'm finding a lot of stores, but I'm not sure how legit they are. I've heard of dead pets being sent, sick ones, and some just never coming at all and losing the money. Are there any stores you've bought fish from with a good outcome?

  • Does this tank setup sound good for Pea Puffers? (Dwarf Puffer Fish)?

I want to know I got this right before I buy everything I'd need.

10 gallon tank. (Is this enough? I see it all over the board on care websites)

    Heater.

    Air bubbler.

    10-20 gallon filter.

    Soft sand.

Heavily planted with swords, java ferns.

    Smooth rock decorations.

    At least two caves.

A spectrum light for the plants.

    Frozen bloodworms and pest snails.

    Presoaked driftwood.

Is there anything else I'd need? Or that would improve the set up?

This set up is planed for three to four Pea Puffers. Ratio 1 male, 2-3 females. No other tank mates save for a ghost shrimp possibly.

  • What are the smallest Aquarium fish?

Fish meaning multiple fish. Fish? Fishes? Was that ever settled on?

I just found out about Borara Maculatus / Brigittae, and how very small they are. I was wondering if anyone else knew of any other tiny fish, that naturally stay tiny.

  • Attracting Crows or Ravens?

I am just wondering if it is possible. They are some of my favorite birds and I know that they can recognize people that feed them, or harm them. I see a lot of them in the area, but very rarely near my house.

  • Foods that change Ghost Shrimp colors?

I've been looking into getting Ghost Shrimp a lot in the past few days, and saw on several web pages that they can change colors when they eat certain foods. It said this specifically apart from how you can see the food in their digestion tract. So I decided to make a list of what foods cause what colors. All I found was people saying that their shrimps changed from every color of the rainbow, peppered, and other marking, but no one mentioned what they fed them to get certain colors and reactions. Does anyone out there know what foods change their colors?

  • Can Ghost Shrimp and Cherry Shrimp live together? Also...?

I've been researching to get a shrimp tank, but haven't found anything saying if Ghost Shrimp can be housed with Cherry Shrimp.

Also, is there a way to prevent them from breeding? I don't want a hundred shrimp, and I don't want to kill any shrimp to keep numbers down.

  • Constant meowing from cat?

My 14 year old cat recently has been constantly meowing. We let him in, we let him out, change the food, check him over, change the water. Nothing seems to work. The only reason he seems to stop is when he sleeps, or randomly decides to be quiet for awhile. Odd thing is he stops when we leave, then starts when we get home (I seem him silent on the porch until we get out of the car.) This has been going on for a few weeks it seems... My only theory is that the death of our other cat, a 7 year old female, may be the reason. She was killed when a family member moved in and brought their dogs over, and seemingly forgot to mention they were cat killers. Those dogs went to a no kill shelter next day, and after keeping track of them, got new homes.

Is there anything I can do for our cat? (I'm not sure of his breed, I got him out of a box of comic books at a garage selling cats. He's orange with pale orange stripes/ short hair/ looks like the cat on the Friskies bag)

He started meowing at 11 pm every night, then it was peppered throughout the day, now it's practically all day, and sometimes meows at 11 pm (70% of the time).

  • 5.5 gallon Shrimp tank?

I was just asking about a 50 gallon tank, but I noticed some info on shrimp. I love shrimps, I think they are the cutest things. I never knew they could be kept in such a small tank or I'd already have gotten some. I really think it would be the best tank for me, and save so much space. I have very little room for anything, but I think a 5.5 gallon wouldn't get in the way. :D

So here is my question, I'm thinking of getting Cherry shrimp, Blue Pearl shrimp, or a mix of both because I wouldn't mind natural colorings to appear in the babies. I'm seeing you can stock quite a few, but I'm wondering what the life span of the shrimps are, that way I can estimate how many to start off with, so a baby boom doesn't OD the tank right off. Would five be too many to start with?

    Other things:

The tank would be planted with a black sand to cause the Cherries color to darken.

It would be filtered with a sponge filter, air bubbler, heater (It gets way cold out here) and medium planted with some glass decorations. Colored glass because I do not trust paint used on ceramics but would still like some mild color in the decorations.

Drift wood, is it any good for shrimp?

How do I clean the sand? Do I use a gravel vacuum? (I know to be careful of plants, I have a planted tank, but it has gravel)

Any tips on caring for a shrimp tank would be great. If anyone knows colors they like or don't like for the decorations would be great too. I'm thinking they may like natural colors like green or brown as opposed to colors like red or yellow.

  • What silly things have shops told you? (10 points to the best)?

I always like to see the strange and ridiculous things that shops like Petco, Petsmart, and local petshop associates tell people.

"A Betta can live in the cup they come in"

"You can have as many snails as you want, even twenty in a ten gallon, they are not messy"

It goes on and on. Though every now and then they do tell you something helpful,

"You need to cycle the tank first" "To transport fish across state you'll need a battery powered air bubbler"

I'm wondering what other people out there have to share on this topic.

  • I have a 10 gallon, I'd like to know the next size up for more fish?

I have a ten gallon tank, heated to 75F, 10-30 gallon whisper filter, whisper air bubbler, rock and gravel substrate, a small lava rock, glowing moon rock (planning to remove), a ceramic decoration, a java fern, and a moss ball. It has two male guppies, and I know they like a group of five or more, but the two left killed all the others (the main one "Tatters" was doing mating dances even though they were all male) and one otoculcus catfish (I found out they need a 30 gallon tank, one of the reasons I want a larger tank). They are fed a mixed diet of brine shrimp, vegetable, and fish based meat pellets. Algae tablets are placed of the catfish.

I clean 30% water changes with a gravel vacuum ever two weeks, or sooner if it looks like it needs it.

My question is what the next size up is for a larger community tank. I think it is a 50 gallon, but housemates keep saying it's a 30 gallon. I don't want to waste money on a tank that can't hold the next set of fish on the line. If it is a 30 or 50 what is the set of fish for it?

    Thanks all.

  • How much does a Public Aquarium cost to run?

I was thinking about this a lot today, but can't find anything on it. There are no Public Aquariums anywhere near where I live, but I have great memories of visiting "The Aquarium of The Pacific" and some lesser Aquariums when I was a child. I know for certain I could not (never actually) afford to build, stock, and run a Public Aquarium on my own. However I came up with the idea of taking donations, running fundraisers, and raising awareness of a "Local Aquarium" as long as the City gave me permission about the possibility to build one. Our city has been working to draw more tourists in (Though it's popular already). I'd like to know how much would need to be raised to build, then an estimated monthly cost to run it. Any thoughts would be great.

I also know insurance would be needed for basically everything, an estimate on that would be great too.

    Thanks everyone.

  • Where can I buy a Peacock Copper Backsplash?

I had the sudden idea that peacock copper would be beautiful as a backsplash, since we haven't found a backsplash we liked. I looked it up, but can't find any. Anyone know where and if we can find one?

  • I'm Fishless Cycling a Tank, But I'm Confused?

I know it takes two months, and I'm willing to wait that long. I want to have a planted tank, which is why I don't want to use that instant cycle stuff in the bottle. I've heard that it won't allow plants to grow, if it does, that would be great and I'll use that.

    Tank info:

    10 Gallon

    Filtered

    Heated

    Rock substrate

    Here are my questions:

Can I have a planted tank after using Quick Start?

When fishless cycling do I plant the plants first, or do I finish the cycle before planting?

What do I do if the cycle doesn't seem to be working, or freezes at a certain point?

For plants, are rocks 1in oval okay, or do I need a finer gravel?

If Gravel how fine so can I still use my gravel vacuum?

Also, is there a way to make a self sustaining ecosystem? I'd just like to know, it's not that I don't want to clean the tank, I've just wondered that for a long time.

    I think that's it.

    Thanks ~ Sparrow

  • Are these good fish stocks for a 10 gallon?

I asked yesterday what people would stock, and also looked around.

How are these? Mind you each line is for its own tank.

    5 Endlers + 2 Dwarf Gourami

    5 Dwarf Gourami

    5 Endler + 5 Guppy

    5 Guppy + 5 Neon Tetra

    5 Glowfish

    5 Molly

    Thanks everyone.

    Notes about Tank :

It is heated, and has a 10 gallon filter with a tube that sucks water up. The suction is low. The substrate is smooth 1in rocks in natural colors.

    More Notes:

I'd like to put a plant in the tank if I can find a nice one. Are there any beginners plants that do well in low sunlight?

  • Fish for a 10 gallon heated / filtered tank?

I am going to cycle a tank for a new group of fish. My Betta, Mr. Frost, died yesterday from some strange tumor causing disease. :( He was a year and two months old, and had the tank to himself. I have thoroughly cleaned the tank, and want to, eventually, get more fish. I just feel sad not seeing a fish swimming around and greeting me for food each morning. Gosh I'll miss him.

I'd like a group fish, so they'll have company. I looked into Guppies, but I don't want them to breed, I only have room for one tank, and I'd seriously cry if all the fry got eaten. X3 I know I'd be watching a cute little fry then BAM eaten.

I was wondering what other fish can live in a ten gallon? I'd like to know so I can research them and pick the one that's best for everyone in the family.

    Thanks everyone ~ Sparrow

I've heard that Bettas are Brackish types. Is this true? Has anyone tried or have Betta in brackish water? If so what are the benefits? And how would I get my 10 gallon to the right mixture for a single Betta?

  • How do magnets affect fish?

I heard that some guy put a magnetic field in his piranha tank, and the fish grew 3X bigger then normal. I tried looking it up, but cant find anything on the subject. I was wondering if placing magnets in or under my tank would improve the health of my Beta. He has a tumor near his spine. Maybe give him more energy, or improve his immune system. I don't want to attempt this without knowing adverse affects. He's a beloved pet, not a laboratory experiment. XD Has anyone out there tried this, knows where to read up on it, has knowledge in magnets or animals?

    Thank you. ~ Sparrow
