Any idea who's signature this is?
I do not have much info on this. It was framed, so we assume it was someone pretty well known, but that's about all we know! It is fairly old, but I do not know from where or when.

I am making two racks of St. Louis baby back ribs, slow cooked in my oven for about 4 hours. I am taking them to my parent s house for dinner and we won t be eating as soon as I get there, so what is the best way to cook them? Can I partially cook them at my house then finish them up at my parents? I was thinking about 3 hours at my house then my parents for the last hour.

I am looking to make slow cooker ham tomorrow night and do not want it covered with sugar! 3 cups of brown sugar? Really?! I want to use pineapple and apricot preserves. Any idea if these two flavors will work? Was just going to get some canned pineapple, and I have almost a full jar of apricot preserves. Should I add some liquid-pineapple juice?

As usual, I have no idea what to get my fiance for any holiday, but now we're up to Valentine's Day. We have been together 5 years in July, and we just got engaged December 27th. Since I always just kind of scrape by the holiday with something or another, I just want to get him something special. He's really into computers, making a game, coding, Apple, weird keyboards, weird mouse, he was super excited when he bought himself a Lifeproof case for his mac mini or whatever it's called. He spends a lot of time doing his work. Sometimes he sits as his desk, sometimes on the couch. He likes to play video games, xbox 360 or ps3. I'd get him a ps4, just cannot quite afford that. We've both gotten addicted to Assassins Creed Black Flag, but since I'm the one thats played it more than him, I'm afraid he will think it's more for me. He has a 3D TV...Any ideas for him?

3 AntwortenPlayStationvor 7 JahrenWhat to make for a large group for dinner?
This question is usually never a problem for me, but for some reason, I cannot think of anything to make for dinner tomorrow! My boyfriend's birthday is Tuesday, so this is ultimately his birthday dinner. My family will be coming over as well. So 6 adults, a three year old that never wants to eat anything but apples with peanut butter and plain pasta with parm cheese (I'm not really worried about him, I'll just make him some pasta) and a 1 year old that could probably eat as much as us! She loves everything. Last time we had my family over for dinner, I made chicken fajitas, so not that. I do not eat steak, so not that either. I was thinking soup and paninis because they're so good, but that doesn't seem like a get together/birthday dinner. Any ideas, or websites? My main thing is I want it to be something a little out of the ordinary and special for my boyfriend, but something that I can make a lot of, even enough for leftovers.
10 AntwortenCooking & Recipesvor 8 JahrenAre wide shoes really THAT wide?
I found a cute pair of shoes online, but they are a 9W. I asked the woman how wide they were and she came back and said they are 10W. To me that means a size 10 shoe, wide?? But I asked for clarification and she said they are a size 9, so I don't know what the 10W means? Anyway, I wear an 8.5-9, usually 9 for flats (which these are). Do you think they will fit me? I usually wear panty hoes to work, but I could wear a thicker sock for these, if that would help.
1 AntwortFashion & Accessoriesvor 8 JahrenSubsitutes for rice wine vinegar and sesame oil?
I wanted to make this rice bowl for dinner that sounds really good. The things I don't have (and really didn't see buying just for a tbsp or two) are the rice wine vinegar and sesame oil. I also don't have sesame seeds, but I'm not really concerned about that. What can I use instead that will give this bowl proper flavors? I have mostly common ingredients: oil, red wine vinegar, white vinegar, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, fish sauce, salad dressing (maybe some Italian?), etc. Any ideas to still make this good?
Shrimp-and-Avocado Rice Bowl
fitnessmagazine.com
Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 10 minutes
Makes: 4 servings
Ingredients
16 medium cleaned, shelled, tail-on shrimp (about 3/4 pound), thawed if frozen
2 teaspoons sesame oil
1 1/2 teaspoons honey
Small pinch cayenne pepper
2 eggs, lightly beaten
1 tablespoon light soy sauce
1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
1 cup shelled edamame, steamed
2 teaspoons toasted sesame seeds
1 1/4 cups short-grain brown rice, cooked according to package directions
1 ripe avocado, sliced
Directions
1. Preheat the broiler. In a medium ovenproof pan, toss the shrimp with 1 teaspoon each of the sesame oil and the honey. Add the cayenne.
2. Lay the shrimp flat. Broil for 2 minutes per side. Transfer to a plate.
3. Heat a small nonstick skillet over medium heat and add the remaining teaspoon of sesame oil. Pour in the eggs. Cook undisturbed until set, about 2 minutes. Flip and cook until just set on the second side, 1 more minute. Transfer to a board and cut into strips.
4. In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce and rice wine vinegar with the remaining 1/2 teaspoon honey.
5. Fold the edamame and sesame seeds into the rice. Serve the rice in bowls topped with the egg strips, shrimp, and avocado. Place the soy-vinegar mixture in a small bowl and use at the table for drizzling.

My boyfriend got a little stain on the front of his white sweater. He thought it is coffee, but all that's left of the stain is a light yellow line, it looks more acidic to me. Please note, I have not dried the sweater in the dryer. I have just tried washing it in the washer, hot water and salt, vinegar and water, oxiclean and water, and clorox and water-usually letting them soak for up to a day each. Nothing is getting rid of the stain! It's a good brand sweater, so I am determined to get the stain out. Does anyone have any ideas that I haven't tried yet? Thank you!

1 AntwortCooking & Recipesvor 8 JahrenPumpkin pie in a can question?
I am making a pumpkin pie for dessert from canned pumpkin. On the can's label, it calls for evaporated milk, but the recipe I was going to use calls for condensed milk. I made a pumpkin pie before using evaporated milk and it came out gross tasting, so I assumed it was because I used evaporated milk. What should I do? I'd like an edible pie (more than I don't want to go to the store on New Year's Eve)!
