Driving from Illinois to Wisconsin?
Desert girl driving from Olympia Fields, IL to Monroe, Wisconsin for interviews 2 days in a row on December 16th. I've never driven in snow before. Is the highway usually clear around that time? Please let me know if there are any common issues driving between these 2 states around mid December. Any tips welcome. Thank you <3
7 AntwortenOther - United Statesvor 1 JahrHow do you calculate pressure of water?
According to this question "A hollow rubber ball, whose volume is 3 x 10-3m3 and has a mass of 1.0 kg) is held by a 1-meter-long string attached to the bottom of a large container of water. What is the tension in the string?"
The answer is soemthing along the lines of T + w = B. Does this imply that weight and tension forces are in the same direction - (downward)
How is this equation derived? What makes more sense to me is Tension = buoyancy force - weight.
Anways,
the answer also goes on to say that
T = B – w = pVg – mg = (10^3)(3 x 10-3)(10) – (1.0)(10) = 20 N
I understand everything except the value for p= pressure of water, that is 1,000. Can someone explain this??? Thanks!
2 AntwortenPhysicsvor 7 JahrenWhat does entropy mean, in terms of energy not being to do work?
Entropy is defined by the energy that is not available to do work in a thermodynamic process.
What does this even mean???
I'm trying to understand this conceptually.
1 AntwortChemistryvor 7 JahrenHow do I take the temperature of a snake cage?
For example, the hot spot is suppose to be 85 degrees F max. When I put the heating pad under the cage, does the temperature on top of the wood shavings have to be 85 degrees? Or when the temperature touches the bottom of the cage, right where the heating pad have to be 85 degrees F?
I'm asking because if I measure the top of the wood shavings, it's 85 degrees F. On top of the heating pad, it's a little over 90 degrees F. I own a Kingsnake and I heard temperatures higher than 85 degrees are unfavorable, and even harmful to the snakes health.

1 AntwortBiologyvor 1 JahrzehntAre ideal gases only behave like ideal at STP?
I'm guessing no, since the ideal gas law PV=nRT lets you play around with some variables. I'm confused about using the ideal law vs using the Van Der Waals equation for ideal gas deviation, which would probably be mentioned in an MCAT question.

4 AntwortenBiologyvor 1 JahrzehntWhat's the difference between a sterol and a steroid?
I know they're both lipids. I have feeling that since a sterol is just 4 fused carbon rings with a hydrocarbon tail, and a steroid looks like that all steroids are sterols but not all sterols are steroids. Is this right? Am I messing this up?

It's a regular hamster cage with a tube that allows it go upwards. He can fit ok except I feel as though since he carries the stuffing through the tube which he has to dig through to go up. He stays in the tube and i feel he struggles getting to the top. Is this normal? I worry he might get stuck and die.
