  • Any other shooters avoiding sporting goods stores?

I don't know about you guys, but I have a gun show to go to this weekend. I just want to not be there, what with all the new fish in the water. Some acquaintenances of mine report doubled prices a "special-ops" show, and the like. Mass pandemonium at sporting goods stores. How long have we been preaching, and NOW people wake up? I can't tell you how many times this week I've been approached. Inquiries start like this. "Hey, you"re a gun guy, right?..." Should I feel obligated to inform all of those whom should have been more pro-active, now that Obama's charade is ending? I mean, I'm tickled to death that the NRA is growing, but I don't want to have to deal with the baby-stroller crowd at the gunshow. Do you think gun shows, as we know them, will continue ? I know we went through this with Slick Willie, and we survived, but now I'm older and less tolerant. What say you gentelmen?

  • Mossberg 500 combo value?

So, I won a raffle. The gun I've won is a very nice Mossberg 500 combo. Rifled slug barrel and smoothbore barrel with several choke tubes. Stock is hardwood. Not walnut, but very nice. Vent rib on the smoothbore, and a nice set of rifle sights on the slug bbl. The wrench for the chokes is missing, however, but otherwise absolutely NIB condition. Other than Zombie-approved, what do you think it's worth?

  • Colt snub nose revolver question?

Okay guys. I just went to a gun show. There were only two Colts there for sale at reasonable prices. I got them both. As it turns out they were on the same table. A Colt Cobra, and a Colt Detective Special. Both blue .38 specials. Very reasonable, considering what is going on with other Colt revolver prices. I'm not afraid of taking D-frames apart, so I disassembled them, one at a time, cleaned them thoroughly, and found them to be in perfect working order. Both have 99% finish remaining. Both are from 1953, oddly enough. This is the umpteenth Colt snub I have purchased recently. Are these no longer interesting to people? Because, if they are, I am determined to corner the market on these. They make a helluva lot better defense weapon than the current crop of puny plastic fantastics, IMHO. What gives?

  • Any rock guitarists out there?...guitar question?

So I recently inherited a 1983 Focus by KRAMER. The good one. Made in Japan. Not the crappy Focus made in the USA. Gibson Flying "V" shape, with Kramer drop head. Two HOT humbuckers, It needed a tremolo/bridge, so I bolted on a vintage trem from a stratocaster, since I'm not about to buy a Floyd Rose, or order something from China and wait a month for parts. I fired it up, and it screams. Very low action, punchy hums, clean controls . Immaculate body and neck. In real world dollars, what is this thing worth?. I wanna get an idea, before I post it on Craig's list. My guess is that it exceeds 200 bucks, but I dont know by how much. Anybody have any experience with these? Thanks.

  • Old revolver, 5-screw S&W?

Hi guys. I just lucked into an old S&W snubbie. 5-screw blue .38 special. 6-shot, Square butt, original Magna stocks. Barrel is so short it's almost not even there. Round front sight, not the ramp. Pristine condition, chambers and bore are mirror bright. I'm embarrassed to tell you how little I paid for this little gem. You guys know I'm all about the Colts, but I am clueless about this Smith. It's adorable, but is it worth a lot of money? I believe it's called a pre-Model 10. But then what model is it?

  • 2003 Grand Prix squeeling after brakes replaced.?

So, when I bought the car, I figured it needed brakes because they were squeeking and squeeling occasionally. I put all new ceramic pads on , all the way around. Now it stops like a champ, but the squeeling is constant, whenever the car is in motion. I suspect the noise is coming from the rear. Is it possible the bearings need replacing?

  • Is my SKS enough for shtf scenario?

It's Chinese. Black polymer sporting stock, although reminiscent of an AK towards the front end. Compact 6-power scope. 7.62 X 39 of course. very light and handy. I have schloads of the goofy detachable hi-cap mags, and 3000 rounds of ammo. Could I do better without spending a fortune, if I used the SKS in a trade?

  • Hey Guys. Here's the info on that revolver I told you about.?

Last week, when I had a brain fart? The triple caliber revolver (22/357/.410) was in December 1978's Guns and Ammo. The cover gun. Doesn't state the name, but if any of you still have the magazine, you should be able to figure it out. Magazine is available on E-bay also. See, I'm not delusional. Looks like it started out as a S&W that mated with the old Webley pistol.
