I am a Straight A senior student that has never committed a crime in my life, except for a prank that went downhill. I left early from swim practice and saw my friend had the window open in his car, and Thought to myself I could mess with his stuff. I jumped in and changed some of his things around and took $25 expecting to give it back to him the next day. He didnt take it as a joke and thought someone robbed him so he called the police and checked the security camera and found out it was me before i could explain. I have tried to talk to him but he has kept avoiding me and he's not answering my calls. Now he wants to press charges against me...What steps do i need to take to defend myself?
