Thoughts? Do you think certain positions should remain closed to women?

Al-Qaeda affiliated organizations are increasing in strength, particularly in Mali. The northern part of Mali is being occupied by al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb, Ansar Dine, and Movement for Oneness and Jihad in West Africa. Furthermore, the violent Aménas hostage crisis in Algeria that just occurred was carried out by an al-Qaeda affiliated organization. Over 20 hostages have been killed, and there are a number of bodies too dismembered to identify.

So, considering the increasing threat, what role do you think the US should play in combatting the militant organizations? We currently have advisors in a number of countries training their soldiers. Do you think we should maintain that role, or do more?

I'm just curious if the left and right are really that divided when it comes to gun control. That is, neither side wants a full ban on guns, rather more strict regulations when purchasing firearms and banning things like hi-cap magazines.

News articles relating to military matters often have quotes from anonymous military or senior military officials. Who are these officials? I mean, are they officers, members of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, or some government corespondent?

I'm just a little confused with this:

66.28g beaker filled with .5g of an unknown carbonate, 10mL of water, and a few drops of indicator.

Titrated with 1M HCl and then placed on a hot plate to drive off the water.

Mass of beaker after is 66.88g.

How exactly do I determine what the unknown element from family 1 is?

I just need to know the steps to take.
