I'm having trouble finding something cheap to use for making mobiles (like cot mobiles!). There's dowel rods on ebay but they're really expensive for what I want - I'm really just after some nice sticks!!!

I've got a big roll of the stuff and I'm wondering if I can use it to make the nappy wraps (the bit on the outside that stops them leaking if it gets soaked through inside), would like to know what it's for if I can't use it for nappies! Thank you :)

Our lovely little Russell Hobbes fan heater blew up a couple of days ago and we really need a replacement (got a Proline one today that claims to be quiet but sounds like it's about to take off!). It's just to provide top up heating on a boat (have a coal fire so the fan bit is really useful for circulating that heat too!).

I know they're only jokes and they're not real but I keep feeling sorry for the poor people in them.. I still find them funny but I think arrrrrr about the people getting hurt or cheated on or being really stupid...

Maybe I'm just going through a phases of hypersympatheticivity or something.

does this really annoy anyone else? aren't we supposed to be living in an age of equality? this suggests to me that every other night mum should be in the kitchen cooking... i accept that in some households it is mum who does all the cooking, but this shouldn't be automatically expected to be the norm anymore.

i just don't see how this out dated advertising can appeal to anyone.

people have been getting bodies from the local morgue and have not been paying for them.

when driving the first thing i do when i get in my little car is lock the doors, it makes me feel safer. yesterday my friend said that this was dangerous as if i had an accident i'd be trapped.

i know that new minis lock automatically after about 20 seconds as a safety feature and i don't want someone jumping in my car or stealing things but being trapped in a car that's about to set fire or something would be horrible.

so.... to lock or not to lock?

i've been meaning to ask this for ages (but only remember in bed when i'm going to sleep) - when you close your eyes at night do you see just black or do you see any colours or light (other than the image of the light you've just been looking at etc).

It's really nice being able to give people stars for good questions but could this lead to the questioner selecting the best answer based purely on someone giving them a star for the question?

Could this really effect someones judgement if they've only got one star (arrrr, they've given me a star... I'll give them the points)

If so, this could lead to everyone starring everything they answer and the end of the world as we know it........
