Christians/Catholics: When should we erase our Epiphany chalk?
I just realized I haven't erased mine yet and I was curious if there's a standard time when it should be erased.
Should I have erased it after a week of Epiphany?
Should I have erased it after Candlemas (2 Feb)?
Do I keep it up until Ash Wednesday (6 Mar)?
1 AntwortReligion & Spiritualityvor 2 JahrenIs it normative for Western Christians (i.e. Catholics & Protestants) to prostrate themselves in worship?
I m a convert to Catholicism. While nobody ever taught me to prostrate myself in worship I somehow got into the habit of doing so at Adoration. I can t explain it. It just feels so natural to me. For the longest time I just assumed I was alone in this.
Last week I visited a new parish and saw a number of people prostrating during Adoration! These were all fellow White Americans (presumably of Western European ancestry) and since prostration isn t really a thing in our cultures except for being knighted or being ordained I thought I d ask.
Is it normative ever for Western Christians to prostrate? If so, when is it appropriate? I m guessing Adoration is the *best* time to do so, but any other times?
5 AntwortenReligion & Spiritualityvor 2 JahrenWhich religion plagiarizes more from other sources, Mormonism, Scientology, or Wicca?
Scientology seems pretty unique, just batshít insane. Mormonism definitively stole everything they have from Christianity, Kabbalah, Freemasonry, and 19th century Occult. Wicca stole everything from Satanism, *real* Paganism, the Occult, and basic 20th century New Age nonsense.
What's your opinion?
6 AntwortenReligion & Spiritualityvor 3 JahrenWhat is the Mormon goddess' name? Or does she not have one?
Mormon god is named Elohim. What is his wife's name? Or does the goddess not have one? Or are Mormons not allowed to know her name or something?
Also, why don't Mormons ever actually use their god's name (Elohim)? They always call him "Heavenly Father". Do they think it's like calling your parent by their name rather than "dad" or "mom"?
5 AntwortenReligion & Spiritualityvor 3 JahrenShould we bless the Lord's name when it is blasphemed online?
Good Christians bless the Lord's Name when they hear someone else blaspheme it (e.g. when they take His Holy Name in vain). An example is:
V. Blessed be the Name of the Lord.
R. Both now and forever.
or
V. Our help is in the Name of the Lord.
R. Who made Heaven and Earth.
So should we do likewise when we see it blasphemed online? If so, how many times should we bless it given the blasphemy recurs every time another reads it?

5 AntwortenReligion & Spiritualityvor 3 JahrenIs "Hocus Pocus" Anti-Catholic? I doubt it.?
I've heard it from a number of places but I still don't quite buy it. The story goes that Puritans ridiculed the Catholic Mass (and other Catholic rituals) as being mere superstition by using a jumbled form of pseudo-Latin to make fun of the Words of Institution which, when uttered by a valid Catholic priest over bread and wine will supernaturally confect the Eucharist.
The actual Words of Institution in Latin are:
"Hoc est enim corpus meum"
"For this is truly my body"
Besides the first two words "Hoc est" I can't see any relation to "Hocus Pocus".
Is there any legitimate history behind this or is it pious legend?
2 AntwortenReligion & Spiritualityvor 3 JahrenWhy are Republicans being so cruel to the CHRISTIAN asylum seekers and economic immigrants? At least they aren't Muslim.?
They're better Christians than the GOP's secularist white children who are contracepting and aborting their children to oblivion. If Christianity will be saved in the US it will be at the hands of Latinos and Blacks.
5 AntwortenPoliticsvor 3 JahrenNow that the Protestant heresy has lived to the decrepit age of 500, and as she slowly rots from the inside out...?
... is she having regrets over the fruits of her labor? Rampant secularism, homosexuality, abortion, infanticide, a loss of God in the public sphere (the doctrine of the Social Kingship of Jesus Christ), and total indifferentism to faith and morals?
6 AntwortenReligion & Spiritualityvor 5 JahrenToday is the anniversary of the Battle of Lepanto (Oct 7). How may Westerners are thankful that the Christians won and the Muslims lost?
You should be, otherwise you'd be speaking Turkish right now, and if you're a woman or gay you'd have ZERO rights under Muslim caliphate.
OUR LADY OF THE ROSARY, PRAY FOR US!
ARCHANGEL MICHAEL, DEFEND US IN BATTLE AGAINS THE SAVAGE MUSLIMS WHO SEEK THE RUIN OF CHRISTENDOM AND THE WEST!
6 AntwortenHistoryvor 5 JahrenCan an orthodox Catholic disagree with any part of the Catechism, or is it IN ITS ENTIRETY infallible?
There are lots of paragraphs in the Catechism of the Catholic Church that do not explicitly deal with faith or morals. Are we allowed to disagree with these sections?
In particular, CCC 841 that states that Muslims worship the same God as Christians. I do not believe this at all, and I've read all there is about this in the apologetic literature... I still don't buy it. Furthermore, I don't see how the infallibility of the Church can extend to infallibly defining the beliefs of ***other religions***.
8 AntwortenReligion & Spiritualityvor 5 JahrenWhat is meant by this: "The only good Muslim is a bad Muslim"?
7 AntwortenReligion & Spiritualityvor 5 JahrenAt what point do you believe people in the West will start retaliating against Muslims for all the terrorism they're causing?
Don't say "It's only some Muslims". That's besides the point. This question is very specific: at which point do you believe the populace in the West will get fed up and start taking matters of defense into their own hands seeing as their emasculated governments can't seem to get the job done?
9 AntwortenPoliticsvor 5 JahrenCould the congress or president ignore the Supreme Court?
SCOTUS rules something unconstitutional, and the legislature (or executive) just says "yeah, don't give a **** what you say" and continues on with the law anyway?
5 AntwortenPoliticsvor 5 JahrenWill Pope Francis now change his opinion about Islam, or will it take more Catholic/Christian martyrdom?
The arch heretic, "Pope" Frank, is an apologist for Islam and terrorists. He s too chicken shít to do what needs to be done: call another, and FINAL, crusade.
Holy Spirit, please usher in this heretic s demise and free up St. Peter s Chair for someone truly worthy to sit in it. Amen.
MOHAMEDANS, LEAVE THE WEST NOW! YOU SAVAGES DO NOT BELONG HERE! DON T WAKE THE SLEEPING GIANT BECAUSE YOU WILL ***NOT*** ENJOY BEING ON THE END OF OUR TERRORISM STICK!!!!
