This is doing my head in.

You copy a link into a Yahoo email - you click 'return' - you get half a page of crap automatically shoved in place of your link that WAS just a few characters.

The crap comes in some kind of 'frame' with hidden edges so it messes up all your typing - you don't know where it starts or ends.

You try to delete it - and as well as taking out the crap half-page picture, it takes out most of your email you just typed.

If you try to right click and delete it - you get taken to the page it's linking to - and you lose your whole email.

FFS.

I need one for my journalism feature writing course - assignment to hand in after Christmas.

I'm thinking of one you can clip onto the handset of a landline and plug into your dictaphone.

Went to Maplins but only ones they had were for attaching at the cable-point coming into the room - looked too permanent and messy to put on and take off. I only need it very rarely.

They also had a huge desktop one that cost over £100.

Can anyone recommend me a clip-on gadget? Under £50 would be great.

Do you have to be careful of defamation etc? I'm not planning to be at all defamatory but would it be on the cards the family could sue me if they just didn't like the portrayal? I'm planning it all to be true but it won't be the face that's been seen before by the public.

I've been kindly given the camera, but no instructions - I used a Fuji Finepix on the Mac before but lost it.

Here's what I've done:

- switched on the camera in photo-taking mode

- connected the camera to the Mac with the USB cable

- opened Iphoto on the Mac

- clicked "import"

It's saying "No camera detected"??

About 3 feet high. I was given these. I expected them to have a ball of soil around the root, but they just had bare roots - the leaves were all wilted and completely floppy (very hot in London today) by the time I got them home in a black bin bag.

I put them in our garden quickly but they're only in very shallow holes for now, just enough to cover those poor dry roots ASAP. I watered them lots+++.

For present stress-migraine free work I'd like the small local company who've done small jobs for me very well - always on time, contactable, polite, clean+++, within quote, never a problem.

The big companies messed me about just giving me a quote (late, contradicting info etc).

There's a mixture of feedbacks on the net about the small company, about 80% very good and about 20% very bad - over past 8 years. Only a few people put feedback on the net though...

Small company might go bust before I sell up and move? It's a "family business since 1970s".

Big companies give me the shivers - service was SO bad just getting quotes! Hanging on phone, repeating info over and over, hanging around all day, rude, careless, expensive £+++!!

But property buyers like a big company name on the boiler-guarantee...

London, UK - It's a loose covered drive (earth and stones) and there's a 1cm spout of water that's made a 1-2cm hole through it. It's right next to the water company's mains-taps under the cement pavement in front of the house. It looks like it might be coming up at the first weak point to the surface through our loose drive - it couldn't come up through the cement-pavement. We've called the water company but they've not turned up yet.

It worked OK last night...
