Is it correct the form 'It's better to win than to lose' or 'It's better win than lose'?
Further examples:
'Better lose such people than work with them' or 'Better to lose such people than work with them'
'It is better to have chicken' or 'It is better have chicken'

The program is a dictionary which has been on my laptop for months! Now, what happens is that everytime I use the English section the message above appears when I try to write the word I'm looking for but when I try using the Italian section no problem occours and I can use it like I've always done (unless I go back to the English section). Can you please give me some advice in order to solve this reeeeally annoying issue??

...dizionario inglese-italiano per pc della Paravia. Ogni volta che lo apro nella sezione Inglese-Italiano mi compare all'istante la finestra 'Invalid XML character found' e ogni volta che si preme un tasto il messaggio ritorna. Se invece entro nella sezione Italiano-Inglese il dizionario funziona come sempre e non crea nessun problema. Ho provato a disinstallarlo e poi installarlo di nuovo, ma il problema persiste. Cosa posso fare?

la frase usata è "Ci becchiamo più tardi Tom", come si traduce quel 'beccarsi' ? È possibile usare 'catch up' ? [Catch up later alright?]

'I didn't know we had a pool' (Non sapevo che avessimo una piscina) e non un più "scontato" 'I didn't know we have a pool' (Non sapevo che abbiamo una piscina...mi vengono i brividi solo a leggerlo, credeteci o no) ?
Se entrambe le forme sono corrette, c'è una differenza di uso o nell'uso che si può sottolineare?
