  • 2001 Nissan Maxima with lights that stay lit and driving is questionable...?

    I have a 2001 Nissan Maxima, and I recently (within the past year) had the battery, starter, front/rear brakes, and several other things fixed.

    The car worked fine yesterday, then today when I drove it the brake light wouldn't go off and the battery light wouldn't go off. I drove for about 1 mile, then the airbag light came on and stayed lit.

    After a few more minutes, the gauges stopped working (spedometer, tach, fuel gage, etc) and just went down and wouldn't move and the entire backlight on the dash went dim, and the car started jerking.

    The guy @ Kragen suggested unplugging the positive node of the battery for 15 min, then turning it on for 5 min, then try to restart.

    Any idea what's wrong, and if that tip would help?
