We are in the same house, using the same WiFi. We are both running Windows 7 Home Premium, although I am the only one with a Macbook (yes I am running Windows 7 on my Macbook). We've both simultaneously turned off our firewall.

Additionally, when he tries connecting to my LAN server he can actually see my World, attempts to connect, then it says "java.net.connectexception connection timed out no further information". When I (the macbook) try and find his LAN server, I can't even see a world to connect to.

Does this have to do with the Macbook compatibility with other computers?

I am going through the installation process of boot camp on my new 2014 Macbook Pro running Mavericks. I am stuck on the "Create Bootable USB Drive for Windows Installation", where it asks me for an ISO image....what is that?

Can I get this image for free? Can I get this image online? I also have a desktop with Windows 7 on it if that is any help.

The underlying question here is...If I want to run Windows 7 on my Macbook Pro SAFELY, and install it using boot camp, will this cost me any money?

I have to ask for my overall grade in some of my classes, and the teacher will respectably tell me what grade I have in the class(typically they pass tests out and I see those grades). My concern is this: Should students(college especially) be able to view their overall grade in a class at any time? I can see this being good and bad.

Beneficial: If a student is doing bad, he can see it and make adjustments/work harder. Also, managing your own performance is a great life skill to have and can be achieved through accurately managing your grade.

Negative: Kids compare grades(make others feel bad)

So my thoughts are that yes, I am doing the homework, coming to class, and taking your difficult tests so I would like to see how I am doing!

I can also predict people saying "Just get your test/homework grades back, keep the scores yourself and calculate your own grade". It is a good idea and I would do that except I can't accurately calculate my grade due to the different weighting systems in place by each teacher/class.

So what are your thought????

I've been cubing for 2 years using Dan Brown's beginner's method, I cheated and used YouTube immediately to learn it. I now average about 40 seconds with my best at 29 seconds. Which method should I switch to next? I understand it's all preference but is there a more transitional method from Dan Brown's? Would it be beneficial to learn another beginner method? I also don't want to start learning a more difficult method and realize after memorizing 50 new algorithms that it's too difficult.

Any suggestions?

I was raised catholic until age 12 then my family allowed me to think freely. In my search I've discovered I don't believe in any sort of religion. My two main reasons are that I believe mass religion takes things far to literally and are corrupt. For example, god said don't be gay...before the 1960's? If people are born gay but I have to be taught about Christianity, then which of those is more natural and real?

My second reason is, if one religion says their god is real and 999 other religions say their god is real, then which one is the correct one?

Also one more random thought. In a sense god says if you do not believe in his ways and follow his teachings you will go to hell, or in other words, if you don't believe this I'll hurt you....isn't that the definition of terrorism? So Christianity I find is a global psychological terroristic scheme.

Again I respect everyone's thoughts, opinions, and beliefs. I'm proud of anybody who has found enlightenment and happiness through religion and made their lives better. But I am looking for one that doesn't not require punishment for sin because sin is natural and how we learn. I'm looking for a way that does not require me to have to follow someone else's thoughts, or pray to someone or something every day. I want something real, something I can touch or see or hear.

I'm a need to see to believe kind of person, and I believe there is a higher power that I don't have to die to see. I'm lost, please help me

I didn't grow up around football and I know next to nothing besides positions and some important players. I'm not in a Fantasy league, basically because I would suck. I need to be Mr. Miyagi'd into the sport. What websites should I be checking? Which channels should I be watching and when?

I want to be able to talk NFL by next year hopefully. It would be really helpful because tons of people know football and it would be great to be able to have that as a connection.

I've had 2 years of college majoring in engineering, that doesn't help I know. Weed has been helping me a lot through some medical and psychological issues. I am willing to move pretty much anywhere in the U.S. to get involved, hopefully California or Colorado.

I'm going to go into a Victoria Secret store and start an "underwear fight" with random girls. The point being I throw lots of underwear at girls, yell underwear fight, my friend video tapes it and we run away or get caught. If we do get caught, will I be in any legal trouble? I'm 21

He's 1 year old now, never abused, an indoor only cat, and was declawed at a very young age. He's always been extremely playful and never skittish until the recent big storm, then he suddenly changed. I'm assuming it was the storm, but will he stay like this? And are there ways of helping him cope with this?

Example: Brendan Witt skates towards Patrick Kane, who is standing still, and hits him hard. That hurts. If Patrick Kane was skating towards Brendan Witt and then they collided, would that hurt more or less?

Trying to show a dummy some physics but can't seem to prove it

I'm determining the most efficient way to smoke in my room(attic). Setup:

There are 3 side-by-side separate vertical windows. I have wedged a box fan in one window with the other two closed, but the fan isn't wide enough to occupy all the open space where air will flow in. Covering up the open space(with clothes/towels) makes the air push back through the fan rendering it useless. I would smoke directly next to the window, blow the smoke straight into the fan, and hold the cigarette next to the fan.

Any ideas on only allowing air flow from inside to outside? Anything at all, even completely new ideas.

I got a tattoo last year, it wasn't painful just a slight pinch, also there was no blood that I could see, but I still passed out in the middle of getting it....why? How do I get over this? I walked into the tattoo parlor with confidence and was positive about the situation the whole time. It's very involuntary that I become sweaty and woozy around needles, even for simple blood tests. HELP

I really want a tattoo, a quote "when everybody loves you, that's just about as funky as you can be" on my side. I want to be able to see it on me before I get it, to see what size/font looks best before it's permanent though. How do I do this?

I'm 20, still in college, and recently became wealthy. I have a $600K salary(if you really want to know how email me), and worked hard to get it. I now wear nicer clothes, expensive watch etc... and girls are more interested in me as expected. I'm someone that's looking for a stable relationship; married in 2 years, kids, house etc... How can I find a girl that likes me for me not my money? Most people know me, entire sororities/fraternities, and I've been asked to speak in multiple classes.

I'm 19, it's not a uni-brow just a prominent brow. Is it weird to get them shaped up a little bit? I'm iffy on it because it's girly. Also, I don't wanna do it if I have to keep waxing them often.

I'm 19, guy, not flexible and don't work out. I'm 6 foot and 170 lbs (kinda skinny). How flexible can I get my body to be? For example, could I completely fold my body at the waist, as in try and rest my head on the ground while standing up and keeping my legs straight? Or is that out of the question. Also, how long would it take me to be at a remarkably flexible state?

One trick I know is:

-a cop cannot test to see if you're high, so NEVER admit to it. Tell them you are naturally "dry", you take acne meds and it makes you dry, or(if you have them) your contacts are drying up.

If I'm drunk (underage), how can I skip out on a cop using a breathalyzer on me?

I'm not looking for "don't talk to a cop", I believe they will get more suspicious if you act like you have something to hide. I'm looking for tips kids can use to trick cops when you are actually guilty of their accusations.

One tip I need the most is if I'm pulled over for a bad taillight or speeding, I have alcohol in the trunk, and the cop asks to search, do they have this right? What are some things they use for "reasonable suspicion" that I can tell them no to?

I'm chewing gum to try and stop the habit of biting my nails. I'm wondering how many pieces a day would be too much to chew?

Also, can I chew one piece of gum too long?

I read that you should chew one piece of sugar gum for more than 20 minutes to get all the sugar out so you saliva washes it all down your throat and not stay on your teeth, but can you chew for too long?
