    A tiny snippet of Charles first speech Note; the play is Shakespearean in style and format; in the play names are changed (eg Charles becomes George)

    What then must I do for the best?

    I scarce can tell, for if I am to be king

    It follows then that I must ensure succession

    My heir must come, no matter how or when

    But stop and think a while –I need not succeed

    But by not succeeding, would I then fail ?

    And by that failure lose my own lineage.
