When you draw a map for a friend, you sketch out the main roads and the ones that matter to that situation. But most/all mapping software shows everything. I want to select those streets myself, but have the software put them in accurately.

I want to have a set of standard logging statements on all classes, methods and functions. It should figure out what class it is in, rather than rely on the developer to do something like "Entering class sendMessage()". Seems like a pretty straightforward scenario, but I can't seem to find a solution.

Yes, I am working on homework. This question is worded oddly and I don't know what they are asking. Any assistance would be appreciated. There are other questions worded in a similar manner. I don't need answers, just help figuring it out. And thanks.

When astronauts are in space, it is said to be weightless. That isn't strictly true. They are still in Earth's gravitational field. The truth is that their ship is falling around the Earth, so their motion is in balance with the force of gravity. I know, I botched to wording a little. That's not the point.

If said astronauts are Earth gravity neutral as they orbit, what would happen when they get on the side of Earth nearest the Moon? Would they drift in the Lunar direction? Sun Too?

Has that been confirmed experimentally?

I have a home network with several computers (desktops and laptops. Every machine is set with logon id's. I'd like to make all computers go to a shared drive for each users settings. My ultimate goal is to make all my documents and settings be in only one place and also make my desktop on every machine be the same. Here are some example behaviors I would expect.

- I'm logged onto laptop1. I change my wallpaper. I later logon to laptop2 and see the new wallpaper choice.

- I work on a document and save it to My Documents. I automatically see it on other machines under My Documents.

If you follow space news, you sometimes hear where an object (space probe or maybe an asteroid) passes a planet. Sometimes it is said that the passing object speeds up and is flung out. Other times, it is slowed down by the encounter and may even end up captured by it. In laymans terms, when could an object be expected to speed up and when could it be expected to slow down?

First thing you should know is there haven't been any events or any reason to question my psychological fitness. You'll have to trust me on that. I have been hoping for a promotion at work. Basically, I meet the criteria and the promo should be automatic.

So the executive who could grant my promotion decides to hire his friend to run some psychological tests on me. They said they just wanted to evaluate the process (being sold by the friend) and see if this would be a good thing for others. I didn't feel I could refuse without jeopardizing my job. So I took the tests and am in the process of working through the results with the tester. The whole process will take several months. Nothing serious was found, in fact I look pretty good in it.

Now they say they won't consider promoting me while I am doing this. I'll now miss the only time of year I can get promoted.

Is there anything illegal about this? I have a feeling there is. I need advice from someone who would know.
