The YouTube clip has gone viral in just over a week. Gingrich states, "The rich getting richer is advantageous for the poor." Do you believe the significant number of video hits is comprised more of people who are happy with this declaration - or disturbed by it?

This is espectially questionable since he has stated, "Raising taxes on the top 1% is a 'sound idea'."

It seems, more than being interested in who the best leader would be, we revel in the scandalous politicians in our political parties. That is, we focus on the schemes of politicians in "the other party" long before we consider the best possible candidates.

(Incidentally, "bias voters revel in scandal" is a perfect wordsmith anagram for "liberals and conservatives" - try it out.)

As a citizen of a country outside the U.S., how do you feel Americans represent themselves during presidential campaigns?

1) Adequately informed, and behaves responsibly with that information

2) Adequately informed, but behaves irresponsibly with that information

3) Inadequately informed by way of the contending candidates, but behaves in a responsible manner

4) Fully impressionable, thus falls prey to all the misinformation and political tactics

5) Disenfranchised and clueless

In the U.S., it's claimed that FOX reports in the favor of conservatives and MSNBC presents their casts on the side of liberals.

If you are an American, are you so impressionable that you feel you and the nation affected by the biased perspectives that are presented by a few network personalities? If so, to what degree do you feel you and others become influenced by these "news channel celebrities"?

Mud slinging is as old a practice as Democracy itself.

When candidates pitch their wet dirt at each other, it's usually made up of strategically-twisted truths, misquotes and misrepresentations, and far-fetched criticisms. The practice is a method used to gain a sound byte over the others, one that gets more attention than the candidates' contendors.

When Americans slap that mud pie together, we scoop up all those sound bytes, throw in lots of misinformation and pat it down with uneducated convictions. We catapult those ugly pies at "members" of our "opposing" political parties.

Who is the worse culprit in this reality? The candidates, playing their conventional dirty politics? Or the American voter, who turns their attention to the dirty plays and a blind mind to actualities?
