I am a Christian; I met my husband online; he was baptized into Jesus, and we've been married over 12 years.
Pro-lifers & Pro-choicers, would a fetus be considered "innocent blood"? (See details)?
I just read a question about the sins God detests which are listed in Proverbs. One of them is hands that shed innocent blood. Here's the entire list:
Proverbs 6:16-19 (New International Version)
16 There are six things the LORD hates,
seven that are detestable to him:
17 haughty eyes,
a lying tongue,
hands that shed innocent blood,
18 a heart that devises wicked schemes,
feet that are quick to rush into evil,
19 a false witness who pours out lies
and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers.
Being pro-life, I immediately thought of a fetus being aborted. Whether a fetus is considered a life or not (obviously I believe that it is), it still seems to me that innocent blood is being shed. What do you think; would this strengthen the argument against abortion? Or do you think it's not relevant? Are you pro-life or pro-choice? And what religion, if any?

It's brown with white lines on its body and legs; it's about the size of a quarter.
3 AntwortenZoologyvor 1 JahrzehntShould convicted murderers have to register like sex offenders do?
I was just watching Cold Case Files, and one story was about a guy who had murdered, was convicted and sentenced to prison, and was later released only to kill again. Why shouldn't convicted murderers be forced to register after release, so people can be aware that there's a murderer in your neighborhood? They require sex offenders to, so as to warn the residents in the area obviously because they could be a repeat offender. The same reasons could be applicable to murderers, so why not have them register also?
16 AntwortenLaw Enforcement & Policevor 1 JahrzehntHow can I stop my cat from being aggressive to my other cat (see details)?
I have two indoor male cats, both neutered. Usually they get along fine; play-fighting, chasing each other, etc, and occasionally the younger cat even licks/grooms the older cat. But once in a while, the older cat (2 years old) escapes outside. When we catch him and bring him back in, the younger cat (1 year old) gets very aggressive and hostile towards the older one, hissing, clawing, and screeching at the older cat. I'm guessing the older cat picked up some rogue scent on his fur while he was outside and that's what the younger cat is reacting to; however, this is purely speculation.
Would bathing the older cat remove the scent? (Although I hate to make him feel like he's being punished just because of the younger cat's actions.)
12 AntwortenCatsvor 1 JahrzehntQuestion about when "it's your time" to die. ?
I have a friend who's daughter killed herself recently. (They are Catholic.) In trying to console my friend, another friend told her that it was just her (the daughter's) time to go. In her case, she just chose the way she died. She went on to explain that if the daughter hadn't killed herself, she would have still died, but in some other way (like a car accident or something).
I'm a Christian, so I don't believe in this, but I did find it rather interesting. Has anyone heard of this, what do you think of it, and what is your religious beliefs, if any? Just curious about other people's thoughts on this. Thanks.
8 AntwortenReligion & Spiritualityvor 1 JahrzehntTo pro-choice people, I have a question.?
I read a defense for abortion where someone responded "it's hard enough for the woman to do it, so the least we can do is support them."
Yet you don't think of the baby as a baby, to you it's "just a clump of cells"; so why is it so hard for someone to get an abortion? Wouldn't it just like having a wart or tumor (i.e., another clump of cells) removed?
Perhaps I'm missing something. (Sorry if this sounds harsh as it does to me, being pro-life; I couldn't see any other way of wording it.)
24 AntwortenReligion & Spiritualityvor 1 JahrzehntIf you are pro-choice, are you also anti-death penalty or pro-death penalty?
It seems like many -- but not all! -- who are pro-life are also pro-death penalty, so I'm just curious if the opposite is true or not. Yes, there are also those who are pro-life and anti-death penalty.
(You can also state your religious beliefs/non-beliefs if you want.)

19 AntwortenReligion & Spiritualityvor 1 JahrzehntAre Christmas lights getting cheaper (not the cost, but how fast they break)?
When I was growing up, our lights lasted for years. We'd decorate the tree and our house, then pack them away and re-use them year after year. Lately (past 5-10 years), it seems like we have to keep buying new lights every year. It's such a waste. Is it just us, or has anyone else had this problem? Where can you get good-quality lights nowadays?
9 AntwortenChristmasvor 1 JahrzehntMost think founders wanted Christian USA! Would you agree or disagree?
Very interesting article in USA Today. I know many will disagree and that's fine. But could everyone -- believers and non-believers alike -- please post friendly, respectable answers; it will give your responses much more value. (And it would be so refreshing from the usual bashing.)
