advice on financial situation?
I'll get right to it.
My husband has a really great paying job (right now) This is a contract job that runs out in about a month. This company is really happy with him, and would like to keep him on, but they don't know how quickly they will have more work available after the contract is up.
He has been offered a job at a chemical plant that will pay less than half of what he is making now, with room for advancement ( in time) . The problem is he is in this contract, (with 4 weeks left) but this other company wants him to start in 1 week.
I do not feel like it is professional to offer 1 week notice to a company that is relying on you. (as he is the only operator left on the job). But if he does not take the new job now, we are scared that there may be no more work after the contract is up (there is no guarantee the bids will be accepted). Our heads are spinning, should we go the safe route and take the less paying stable job, or stay with the contract job (high paying) and hope that the bids are accepted?
We have 3 kids to think about here.
I am placing this is family category because I feel that this is family related!
I know it may seem like an easy answer to some, but when your stuck in the middle of it, it is just so hard to decide!
