my min pin is very scared of everything and everyone. i got her when she was a year and half old, the lady i got her from told me she was like that with her. i want her to be calm and not jump at everything she hears. however if someone comes to the door shes as tough as nails until they come in. she tends to not like men but loves my husband...anything i can do to help her?

we have a poodle and a min pin. they are mostly inside dogs except for when they go out to go potty and play. but teh fleas are killing me! ive tried frontline and advantage and nothings helping. is there anything else i can do?!
