Hi, I'd like to know something about thanksgiving.

I know it's an american tradition started by the pelgrims that first sttled in North America.

But my question is this:

If the first settlers were helped out by the native americans, and even created an annual tradition to have a feast en meal, how can it be that the relationship changed so dramatically later and that almost all native americans were whiped out?

I mean, it seems to me the thanksgiving tradition only shows proof of a good start, I really wonder how it came to be that the settles and the natives had such poor relations.

Just found out Kellogs adds "iron" to their cereals.

Also found out this is the metallic/magnetic form of iron, not the salt/mineral we can absord in our bodies.

Why is this!?!?

ok so here's the deal:

Yesterday I saw a report of a consumer program testing all kinds of products u can find in your local supermarket. The report I saw was about Kellogs special K.

It showed that Kellogs added iron to their cereals to help getting vitamins etc etc.

HOWEVER, as the report soon showed Kellogs was NOT using any mineral that you could add to your diet, they added ACTUAL iron.

They showed this by putting cereal in a box of water and holding a magnet next to it.

It showed the cereal drifting after the magnet, proving it was magnetic.

Now as far as I know the kind of "iron" we get in foods ( like spinach etc) is a form of salt, that your body can digest. and that mineral form of iron is NOT magnetic.

So the program continued showing how they actually got some grams (!!!) of real magnetic iron out of the Kellogs special K. proving it was not a myth and that there was actual iron in it, the magnetic/metallic kind.

Kellogs responded by saying the added ammounts of iron are all inside of the boundaries set by law etc etc. This all happened in 2009

Now I have some special K at home, and i still see the added iron labeled on the box, and I'm freaking out. so here are my questions:

1) Isn't it extremely dangerous to fill your stomach/body wit miniscule parts of iron?

2) why would they add actual iron when it is impossible for you to gain any minerals from it?

3) have there been known cases of people suffering from metallic buildup in theyr bodies resulting after eating kellogs?

I just really wanna know.

In the future whenever I eat cereals I will have to do so with a magnetic spoon to be sure it's safe I guess...

Seriously, the whole world knows how bad the NSA is doing atm and the USA in general with their world plans... and a LOT of US people seem to be pissed because of it.

How is it possible nobody is doing ANYTHING to stop or even slow down the NSA at all?!

Not talking about violence, more about politicians who don't bring it up or consider it not to be an issue at all.

Ok so, this is what happened.

Got a new laptop, wanted to download games and movies again, went to TPB and then i made a mistake.

When the little thing pops up asking me if I want to run the application (put it in Utorrent and run it) i accidentally clicked no and dont ask me this again (it was 1 button) and now i cant download anything from anyone because i say no by default. >.<

So if there is anyone who knows how I could resolve this you are very much welcome to help me out!

well, the title pretty much says it all...

hey, thanks for taking the time to read, I'll start right up.

I just got a brandnew movie downloaded and watched it yesterday myself, now I want to get it on an USB but every time I open the folder where the file is in my laptop laggs and freezes up.

My mousearrow is able to move, but not click on anything. (sometimes even the arrow laggs)

I have scanned it with Mcaffee (*sigh* here come the Mcaffee comments...) but it showed nothing.

(Currently I'm on my laptop but I havent opened the file so it isnt freezing up)

and like I said i have watched it myself yesterday and my laptop has not performed any worse since then, ony when I opened the folder. and as long as I dont open the folder it keeps working like a dream.

After a lot of arguing with religious people on Yahoo (arguing, not bashing!) I found mysef asking this question.

Is there ANY scientific proof for the existance of jesus of nazareth?

I am not counting the bible as a form of proof since it was all written by somebody other then Jesus.

And therefore can not be taken seriously.

To anybody who knows the importance of objectivity this is something I need not explain.

So, is there? any proof of jesus's existance exept for what the people wrote about him?

His grave? clothing? anything!?

I mean, as far as I know he was a simple carpenter, which must mean at some point he MADE something. (if it was a real person to begin with) and with him being all one of the most important religious figures of all time I'd kinda expect some of his works to still exist.

But apparently they don't.

So if anyone could point me into the direction of solid proof that would be great.

(please to quotes of scriptures, they never help and 9/10 people interpret them their own

I recently got myself a Lenco TFT-1503 (15,3 inch) and I would like to connect it to my laptop.

Now I dont see any USB ports on it, only a scart entrance, entrance for the 3 cables that go into scart (red white yellow), and some other ports of which I have NO idea what they are. ( a slightly wider sort of USB port)

Now my question is this:

Can I connect this screen to my laptop and if so, how?

If anybody could let me know what cables I need to make this work, that would be awesome/

Hi, recently I've been seeing a lot of vids from Turkey with their massive riots and protests against the police and government and in almost all of those videos you can see the rioters being attacked by the police with teargas canisters being fired into crowds.

Now I have been looking into what teargas is etc and I found out something that really confuses me.

Turns out, one of the sideeffects teargas can have is "intense anger" as described here and in many other websites that offer this kind of info http://chemistry.about.com/od/chemicalweapons/a/te...

So, WHY is the police that is trying to calm down a crowd firing weapons at the crowds whilst knowing those weapons could provoke intense anger?

Sure it's an easy thing to say"who wouldnt get intensely mad when fired upon with teargas?" and that would be a legitimate question but if you keep in account that teargas is a chemical substance and that the symptoms include the anger, and it's being used at groups of people that go on the streets to protest because they are mad...

Anyone that thinks a little bit further could see that teargas could then be effectively used to make any calm protest burst out into a ful blown riot.

I just think it's a real interesting and creepy fact and I'd like to get some more perspective and opinions on this matter (teargas, not the matter of riots in turkey or where ever)

When I open Chrome my homepage is google.com, and normally when i type something in the adress bar on the top I get google results. if i were to type the word banana I'd get google searc results.

However, this is no longer the case.

Since yesterday its when I type something I will get yahoo search results and it's totally pissing me off.

So, if anyone could please explain to me how I can get google back as my search program that would be great.

I recently started to learn how to program for myself for fun.

I just came up to a point where they talk about modulo's and I just can't seem to wrap my head around them.

It is supposed to give you the remainder of a divisional sum, but I don't get it!

For example: (% is the modulo sign for those who don't know it yet)

23 % 10 = 3

because 23 divided by 10 is 2,3 and then the modulo gives you only the remainder so the answer is 3, pretty easy.

But what I don't get is how the next examples work, because they do not make any sense.

Here they give 2 more examples that do not make ANY sense to me:

17 % 5 = 2

and

13 % 7 = 6

While if you divide 17 by 5 you will get 3.4, so that's definetly not a 2

And if you divide 13 by 7 you get 1,85, something which also cannot possibly be 6

So if anybody would PLEASE explain this to me,I'd be really gratefull.

I recently had an argument with a friend of mine about dental health so I posted a question on yahoo asking what's the worst thing that could happen if you have cavities but leave them untreated.

I received answers that said that occasionally people DIE from not going to the dentist and that it could lead to heart failure.

I'm having a lot of trouble believing that since I've seen a LOT of footage about crack/heroin addicts with the worst teeth ever imaginable but they all still live.

So if somebody could resolve this for me once and for all that would be great.

If a person has a toothache and does not go to the dentist but does keep on brushing his teeth twice a day and uses fluoride mouthwash, what is the worst that could happen to that persons (dental)health?

As we all know (or should know by now) North korea has the ability to launch a nuclear missile to the U.S.

Now this is ofcourse something that will never happen and even if it happens the missile will surely be shot down before it ever reaches the U.S.

Also they (NK) are threathening south korea with their nuclear capabilities.

Now my question is, whats the use of this?

Surely NK will never attack anybody with a nuclear weapon since they are too affraid they will follow the same fate. They will also not attack south korea (most unlikely that is) because south korea is still seen as a part of north korea by most north koreans and tthey (NK) need the production facilities SK has, so they are not likely to blow it up.

So, what IS the point of getting nuclear weapons and threathening with them then?

If anybody could give me another perspective I would really appreciate it, because I cannot understand how NK is planning to imporve the quality of their lives by just demanding it :s

Yesterday we all saw the news about north korea wanting to destroy the U.S. etc etc.

Now my question is this:

There are a LOT of U.S. troops stationed at south korea ever since the war, do those troops need to consider themselfes to be under immediate threat of north korea or are the media just blowing everything out of proportion?

I know it's hard to find accurater info about north korea but it seems to me that when a country sais it's gonna get nuclear weapons to destroy the rest is dangerous. Especially when that country is ever more succeeding in obtaining nuclear weapons and now has the ability to launch ballistic missiles.

Should we ( the western world/U.N.) pay more atttention to north korea? or Will everything just blow over without anything happening? I dont know, all I know is that the N.K. sounds really angry towards the U.S. and all its allies

"to vindicate the vindictive deity"

I know/think deity means something of a god or something but the other 2 words I have never encountered before in my life.

It has come to my attention that a LOT of people who I converse with over the internet that are from the U.S. are illiterate.And by that I mean that they speak no actual language whatsoever.

I know this question will get a lot of responds from the fools that think they are funny but I would like to know just how many people are unable to read/write in proper english in the U.S.

Could anybody show me some statistics that are based on facts please?

I'd really like to know so I coukld get a better picture on what the state is of the U.S.

I recently came upon a documentary on the Discovery Channel and it was about something they dubbed "snake-fish.

It was about a sort of fish that very much resembles a snake in that is has the same sort of scales/print on it and that it was able to "walk" out of the water in search for another pond etc to take over.

This documentary shows that the fish is an extremely aggressive animal that will destroy entire ecosystems of the places it visits. As was the case in some parts of the U.S.

Now in this documentary they said it was almost impossible to remove the snakefish from the enviroments it has taken over and that it would spread extremely rapidly across the U.S.

Now this documentary was from 2007 or 2008 so I was thinking those fishies had a lot of time to spread and multiply so here's my question:

Have snakefishes spread even more in the U.S. since 2008+ and if so, what is the impact they have on the original wildlife of the places they take over?

Are there any remedies to fight the fish?

And ofcourse, what do the fishermen in the U.S. have to say about it?

I have tried looking for info myself but as I'm living in europe the info i get isn't always trustworthy.

I just saw Bill Maher's movie Religulous and there was 1 part that I found really interesting.

In this part I want to show you see Father George Coyne, PhD, who is an astronomer for the vatican.( hope i spelled it correct)

He explains that there is no possibility for the bible to have any scientific data in it.

Now my question is this:

How come most christians/catholics refuse the idea of evolution while even the vatican does not say it's not true. And why do people cling to the bible as if it holds any scientific value when even the higher-ups in the vatican say that it hasn't any?
