In survival of the fittest shouldn't bees have been knocked off a long time ago and replaced with generations of bees that don't die when they sting? They have organs and everything any species needs to survive thanks to evolution, but work especially well because they live in large numbers. So why are bees like they are today?

I just saw someone say they had an "open mind" because they don't believe what their parents believe or anyone else because their mind is "open"
I just think that term is thrown around a lot and no one really puts any thought behind it. Wouldn't a mind be stronger if it had theory and philosophy? A sort of perennial thought system based off the intelligences of many many people?
I think someone could be atheist because they are closed off to religious thoughts just as much as a religious person could ignore science. Wouldn't a truly open mind accept both?
