Mike H Music Man in New Orleans
I am a 57 year old married man with a grown daughter (no grandkids yet). I love all kinds of music except RAP and most of my time here is in one of the music categories but I do go into others if I see a contact's question I want to answer. I do not critize other peoples taste in music. If I don't like a particular artist or song I simply say they aren't my taste. I treat everyone with respect and that is all I ask in return. No trolls allowed - reporters will be blocked. If you don't like what I say - "Just don't read it" It's real simple - even a troll can do it. I love different opinions but be respectful. I don't thumb's down but if you get out of hand with the insults - I will block you. I hate to do that but I come here for fun and not to be insulted or have my friends reported or insulted. There isn't good or bad music really. It is all personal preference so let's answer and ask with that in mind. My favorites are The Blues an
Can someone give me the legal reasoning for the following situation?
In many states if someone kills a pregnant woman the killer is charged with a double murder. If that is the case why isn't abortion murder? I'm not taking sides. I just want someone to give the legal reasoning for this situation.

Most box sets just contain the hit songs and a few worthy tracks from the bands studio albums and aren't really worth the expense unless you are just looking for a limited collection of music by a particular artist and don't plan on buying their complete recordings.
The Jimi Hendrix Experience Box Set contains unusual versions of his classic songs as well as some songs not found anywhere else

5 AntwortenRock and Popvor 9 JahrenI graduated High School in 1973 - What are some of the big musical events that occured in your graduation year?
Here are some of mine."
The US #1 hits included songs like "Angie" by The Rolling Stones, Superstition by Stevie Wonder, We're an American Band by Grand Funk and Time in a Bottle by Jim Croce. The UK hits included 3 hits by one of my favorite UK bands "Slade". "Dark Side of The Moon" was released. The biggest rock crowd ever assembled gathered at Watkins Glen to hear The Grateful Dead, The Allman Brothers and many others. Bruce Springsteen was making a splash and Led Zeppelin broke all of the box office records for live shows. Lynyrd Skynyrd brought the South to the rest of the country with songs like "Freebird"and Punk was starting to get some real notice. Eric Clapton was coaxed out of his isolation when Pete Townsend invited him on to the stage at the Rainbow Theater.. Ron Wood, Stevie Winwood and Jim Capaldi joined him and the recordings became Clapton's Rainbow Concert album. The Vietnam War officially came to an end in January with Neil Young stopping his Madison Square Garden concert to announce the accord. John Lennon was kicked out of the USA and George held the concert for Bangla Desh. In June David Coverdale replaces Ian Gillian in Deep Purple and Graham Parsons gives his last show before dying of an over dose. Finally in December Aerosmith performed "Dream On"on American Bandstand and Slade had their third chart topper of the year with a Christmas song called "Merry Christmas Everybody"These are just a few of the things that occcured during what is generally considered a quiet year in Rock.

8 AntwortenRock and Popvor 9 JahrenArguably the greatest period in music history is 1965-1974 - will you rate these songs from then?
There are so many great songs from those years that it is not possible to list even a small fraction of them. The ten I am going to ask you to rate aren't going to be the obvious famous songs from that period but songs that didn't get a huge amount of airplay.
1965 saw such great songs as Satisfaction - The Rolling Stones, Like A Rolling Stone - Dylan, My Generation - The Who and Yesterday by the Beatles but what do you think of this one,
1 - She's About A Mover - Sir Douglas Quintet
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LHF2LHtHt78
1966 gave us my favorite love song of all time, "When a Man Loves a Woman"by Percy Sledge as well as Paint It Black, Gimme Some Lovin', For What It's Worth, Wild Thing, and Eleanor Rigby among many others but what do you think of this one?
2 - Walk Away Renee - The Left Banke
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SqAh1dQu_pg
1967 The Summer of Love and one of the most famous years in popular music history. It brought such classics as Light My Fire, Sunshine of Your Love, Purple Haze, A Day In The Life, Whiter Shade of Pale, I Can See For Miles and White Rabbit. I could list classics from this year all day and still not name them all.But what do you think of this one?
3 - Summer Rain - Johnny Rivers
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xa9vWVEYojg
1968 - Was a monster of a year. The music started getting moving away from the Folky music preferred by the Hippies to a harder edged Blues music. Cream was in full swing with "White Room", The Stones were jumpin with "Jumpin'Jack Flash"Steppenwolf was "Born To Be Wild", CCR made it's appearance with "Susie Q and even the Beatles rocked a little harder with "Helter Skelter"but what is your opinion on this one?
4 - Getting To The Point - Savoy Brown
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1o5wDLq55o
1969 as Hard Rock entered the mainstream with therelease of Led Zeppelin I and II, CCR continued to turn it up a notch and The Stones were still mixing Blues,R&B and ,Rock n Roll into some of the best music ever created. The Beatles and The Who produced some of the best music of their careers and The Allman Brothers produced one of the greatest cover songs of all time in "Whipping Post"thus setting the stage for Southern Rock to be born. But how about this one?
5 -Thoughts - Crow - their most famous song was "Evil Woman"which was covered by Black Sabbath and Spooky Tooth
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IkTlyPx7-6A
1970 my sophomore year in high school saw Layla take over the radio and Bridge over Troubled Waters become song of the year. Black Sabbath produce the monster album Paranoid and Deep Purple finally started getting some real notice. And sadly we lost Janis and Jimmy. But what about this one?
6 - Ride Captain Ride - The Blues Image
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pKppSotWL3o
1971 - saw Stairway To Heaven born and it would become one of the most played songs in Classic rock. John Lennon taught us to Imagine and Marvin Gaye asked "What's Going On". Rod was breaking up with "Maggie May"and The Who decalred that they "Won't Get Fooled Again". The year also saw Jim join the long list of Rock greats that have left us. What do yo think of this one?
7 - Hocus Pocus - Focus
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NGaVUApDVuY
1972 - Gave us my favorite Stevie Wonder song in "Superstition" and saw Papa become a Rolling Stone, Deep Purple watched the "Smoke on the Water"as their hotel burned and Bill Withers told us to Lean on Me whenb we're not strong. Nel Young was looking for a Heart of Gold the Stones were gambling with some "Tumbling Dice". But what about this one?
8 - Children of The Revolution - T Rex
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6u1CB5xzbm8
1973 saw me graduate high school and start college. It also saw Lynyrd Skynyrd fly like a Free Bird and Aerosmith just want to Dream On. Pink Floyd was looking for "Money"and The Stones were telling Angie goodbye. But what about this one
9 -Showbiz Kids - Steely Dan
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-9QVNbUPzgM
1974 - last but not least. 1974 brought us Marleys great No Woman No Cry, Lynyrd Skynyrd telling us about Sweet Home Alabama and Bachman Turner Overdrive telling us "You Ain't Seen Nothin'Yet". Electronic Kraut Rock made it into the eyes of the mainstream with Ktaftwerk's "Autobahn"and The Doobies were singing about "Black "Water". Music in general was trying to find it's way as some of the greats were now gone or disbanded. But songs like this still made the year worthwhile. What do you think?
