This goes with the question that I asked earlier,

My speakers are turned on and I do get some sounds but I dont get the "knock" that tells you when someone signed on/off to yahoo messenger. I have the yahoo 8.0 version and when I updated to that version today, I lost my sounds settings. I am currently looking under alerts & sounds in the messenger window. im not having any luck with this though as far as getting my sounds back the way they were before I updated to the 8.0 version.

PS...I dont know how to communicate on here with individuals so please e-mail or dont take it personal if I dont get back to you. I just started asking questions today so im not sure how to get back to any of you. thanks for your help ahead of time though.

I posted this question earlier and I got a few responses (thank you to those who tried to help me) and I think I have the right boxes checked under Alerts & Sounds but I'm sure...can someone help me please?

When someone signs on/off to yahoo messenger, I used to hear a "knock" sound. Now I don't hear anything. I looked under the messenger window and clicked on PREFERENCES to set the "knock" sound again...but I still dont get the "knock" sound. How do I get the "knock" sound back so I will know when someone signs on/off of messenger?

I have the Yahoo 8.0 version and everyone that I recently chatted with is listed under my contact search bar pull down menu. can someone tell me how I can delete these contacts? Thanks
