I am booking and paying for a spanish hotel through a website, the hotel will require a credit card or cash deposit on check in for incedental charges, without phoning the hotel from the UK how much is the charge likely to be? Do they take a percentage of the total cost of the stay?

How easy is it to construct an in situ concrete frame incorporating precast concrete floor, assuming the building is a high rise tower?

Is this possible?

How do the components fit together with this method?

If not why?

Why would precast frame and floor be better?

My Golden Gourami, about 1 year old, has been 'feeling under the weather' for the last couple of weeks, clamped fins etc, i had been treating it for fin rot and seemed to be getting better, was eating etc.

I come home this evening to find it under a log, headfirst in the gravel. It had buried itself a good inch, it was dead. It wasn't stuck as there was plenty of room beneath and around the log.

Would a tropical fish do this if it was feeling unwell?

I have never heard of a fish comitting suicide before!

Does anyone know if the Shell petrol station on the A26 at Aire de rely southbound of Calais allows overnight parking?

I have heard that people was once employed by the Army ( i think they are called agitators) to act like normal members of the public but go into pubs etc and deliberately start fights etc

I understand this was carried out, for example, in Ireland, about 20 years ago.

I would like to know a bit more info, i'm not very good on history. What was happening in Ireland around this time and why would the army send people into pubs etc to deliberately cause fights!

My Gourami has been ill now for some time, i have treated her with various things but she is getting weaker by the day, she is the smallest gourami in the tank the others are fine, i think she has just fallen ill and cannot recover. I have not been able to pinpoint a particular illness, i have now decided to euthanize her.

I wont be going down the decapitation route and i dont have an clove oil so my other option is the freezing method.

Is freezing humane? any other suggestions much appreciated

My female pearl Gourami is not well, she has been like this for a few weeks and i have treated her with Esha 2000, its didn't work, she looks like she is going to die but seems to keep going, here are her symptoms:-

Sitting on the bottom of the tank, only comes up for food.

Is eating fine but has trouble swimming to the surface,

When swimming to the surface she looks like she is bent.

All her fins are clamped to her body

She has lost weight

Not pooing much

I have her isolated and deliberatley keeping her closer to the surface.

Anybody got any ideas of what this could be, i was thinking constipation as i have not seen her poo for ages but i cant relate the weight loss as she always eats.

She is about a year old and the tank is established not added anything new.

I cant ask rude one's so preferably serious answers please

I have a tropical fish tank with a couple of plecs, gouramis and neon tetras.

I have just noticed the heater has broken, it must have gone a couple of days ago and the water temperature is 68 degrees, i have turned the central hetaing up and put a oil radiator next to the tank and the temperature has now come up to about 72 degrees, i know this is still not warm enough but if i can maintain this temperature will the fish be ok for a couple of days untill i can get to the fish shop?

Also my female gourami has lost alot of weight, could this be due to the lower temeprature?

Any other ideas on how to keep the water warm.

My otherhalf has a 2003 Astra van 1.7DTI for the lat couple of days the power steering has been acting a bit strange, it has been really stiff when starting the engine and take about 20 mins for the "power steering' to kick in, it has never done this before has always worked perefctly from the moment of startiing the engine. Done the obvious thing and checked the power steering fluid and all is ok.

There has also been a funny smell coming from the vehicle when it is running and today it died completely, went to start it and nothing batteru completly dead, there wasnt even enough to work the central locking.

Could the two be related?

Any ideas on what it could be apart from a flat battery? Flat battery does not explain the power steering problem, but it all seems to be coincidental.

i'm calling all Audi owners out there, i am considering buying a 2005 A3 2.0 TDI 140 SE DSG with approx 76k miles on the clock. I have never owned an Audi before, how relaible would this kind of car be, especially with 76k miles? should i expect to start breaking down. Before anyone says dont buy a high mileage car, its all i can afford in my price range and i used to own an Escort that had done about 90K miles and was about 10 years old, it was still going strong when i got rid of it, so i like to think an Audi given it reputation will be just has hardy!
